Congrats on a well and hard-earned achievement @Avenge_December_7

Thank you for sharing and explaining the tactics you used to accomplish it as well!

Was the Izmail key in earning it? Or is there another ship you believe could have done the job?

Welcome, @AESOP_Retd!

One thing I would HIGHLY recommend is making sure you are playing in CO-OP vs Random battles. This will give you a chance to learn how to lead, shoot, what aiming reticle works best for you, I recommend #7.

Please feel free to ask our amazing community advice as they will be happy to answer them.

All the best sir.

Grats @Finnkax on the nice run of games and the swatting down of Red planes

On the whole, I find @Anonymous50quote the most accurate.

Each game is unique as ship composition very as does the tiers of ships involved and the skill of the players who command them.

The concerns of some may not affect you today but could in the future.

How have games been today for others taking out CV's or dealing with them on the red team?

Thank you for explaining and breaking down the basics of making the most of the information from Team lists, @Ducky_shot

Really solid explanations and examples for the newer players or those that may need a quick refresher.

Great advice and solid observations @Anonymous50.

I am looking to play her as Torp boat, but to see what the USN aspects add or subtract to the gameplay style.

Those of you who pick them up PLEASE share your experiences playing them. thanks

Thank you again for another great Destroyer thread @Destroyer_KuroshioKai

Even as I want to see as many ships saved as museums as possible I do understand that many, even if they are older, still have a level of confidentiality.

We have a great many possible future museum ships, but we do need to balance security with our desire to preserve.

When I first heard of WoWS, way back in Feb of 2014 at the WLGNA Season 3 finals, I was excited out of the box because of my love of naval history.

It has been a life long interest and passion. I would wager a great many were first "hooked" by the historical aspect. But had the game not been fun I and many would have faded away a long time ago.

As the game has continued to grow WoWS and WG has celebrated the real-life ships through visits, such as Let's Battle Tours in the past, and now the Anchors Away Tour.

So while history may have been why many came in, I can see how gameplay may have kept folks.

But I still get a kick every time I take out the Dreadnought, the Hood, the Haida, or even just the Fubuki.

The history makes the game just that much enjoyable.

Timing is key.

As a DD player, I have had my bacon saved in the mid to late game by perfectly timed fighter cover.

Seeing rocket planes heading in your direction after you are spotted in the mid-game creates some anxiety but suddenly having CAP overhead is a boost.

The Battleship is a massive threat. Historically and in-game, they are seen as massive damage dealers with the ability to carry a match from most ranges depending on meta for each specific country and class.

They are also seen as giant, often slow, HP pinatas, for an aggressive cruiser, destroyer, and battleships to reap and smash.

Tanking or "Damage Sponging" is a great tactic and so far the suggestions in this thread have been educational and well said.

The key comes down to managing the damage you are taking vs the amount of HP and heals you have. Being able to be the "Fire Magnet" to better provide your team with the advantage.

So my question would be what ship do you find pulls this tactic off the best? As one who is not the best at BB's I have found the Nelsons "Super Heal" useful in pulling this off on occasion.

As a DD Main this VERY important. Giving the enemy DD more to think about than just me gives me a base advantage. All it takes is one of those massive shells to connect and suddenly that BB has the DD's attention.
And nothing gets a DD's player attention more than being hammered by 14 inch and bigger shell. Even an over-pen will clock a chunk of HP. It may shake him enough to make an error your DD can exploit. Your DD will appreciate the support and perhaps be bolder in spotting and screening for the BB's. Just my thoughts.

In the times of the White Star heyday as the premier passenger liner, the British government always had a hand in the passenger and cargo industries.

Even to the point of financially providing assistance, see Cunard and White Star merger during the great depression as the most obvious example.

Big shipping always saw it in their best interest to work with the interests of the government and visa a virsa. My question would be how much compensation did they pay to the ships lost during WW1 and WW2 to those transport companies? If anyone knows please answer here as I would be curious to see what the answer is.

@Wows_Nightly_News if it would help preserve living history, aka save ships from the scrap yard, I would be the first one signing up to stay in the Hotel John F Kennedy.

It could be the first hotel with a nuclear reactor. In all seriousness, this could be a viable idea to save ships from the "trash heap of history" and instead make them viable pieces of living history.

Thanks for the idea and heads up.

A question for those above or those that have a good amount of games in the USS Georgia.
Would you consider it a high skill level ship, for a tier 9?

@BC_master_kush_CA_2019 , the advice from @SireneRacker is solid.

In addition, be sure to check out videos and help guides on the USS Georgia.

I run similar to @AnIolairGhorm . B For the "Just in case" offensive firepower unless running ops or situations when I know there will be planes or likely planes. As much as I try to stay 6 K away as a plan, there are times having the "defensive" Torpedo option has saved my bacon.
The nice thing about this ship is that it DOES offer you a definitive choice on how you want to set it up.

I really do enjoy playing the Le Terrible, @HyPHerFaZe.

One suggestion for release day, take out any DD's or cruisers you want to test so you may learn which work best against the many French DD's that likely will be playing those days.

AS a DD Main I am very curious to see how the different tier French DD's, with their guns and speed will match up vs there rivals. If nothing else but to learn how I might need to modify my DD play style when facing them.

Thanks for the video and advice @Destroyer_KuroshioKai.

For me, it depends on the guns per ship. The 150's of the Z-39 I will go AP much sooner than the US 127's and especially the 100 MM of some the IJN ships.

@Destroyer_KuroshioKai, do have any of the ships that you WOULD NOT us AP?

"Granted, they were obsolete; the subs were of the diesel electric variety, not nuclear ones" - That has not stopped countries in the past from selling ships, tanks, trebuchets, or anything else that can generate revenue.

The USSR at this time were cash strapped and finding a way to clear out some inventory while getting cash in return likely was seen as an easy win.

That being said I wonder if Pepsi had kept them if they would have named them after their other drinks? we could of had the Pepsi Fleet Ship (PFS), Mountain Dew? Or the PFS 7-UP Heavy cruiser?

Regardless thanks for sharing the interesing article @warheart1992

Thanks for the feedback @The_Chiv and all.

Is it just your first point on improving players DD battling skills? Or is there other reasons, benefits you see to keeping this mode around?
