We have pushed a hotfix to address the following:

  • Mild server crashes.
  • Item stacks not working as intended on Twinblast and Grux.
  • Ward charge cooldowns not working as intended.
  • Players with high ping having trouble queuing.
  • Scoreboard hero level ping to reflect the last level visible.
We have also added a ping indicator to the draft lobby due to player feedback.

GAME MECHANICS General Game Size
  • Space needed to install the game should now be down to roughly 14 Gigabytes from the previous size of 53.7 Gigabytes. (74% decrease in total space needed).
With this patch we have reduced the file size of Fault dramatically, this is the result of some work we have done to optimize and improve the memory usage of our game. We have received positive feedback from our testers about this change and are eager to see how it effects our community. We plan to continue working on optimization in the following weeks and will continue to monitor related feedback.

Matchmaking
  • Region selector has been removed from PVP matches and replaced with Ping dependent matchmaking.

WHAT IS THE HERO MASTERY RACE?
The Hero Mastery Race is a competition to see who can reach gold mastery on our latest hero the fastest! We want the race to be accessible to as many people as possible, therefore we have opted to only go as far as gold for now. We don't want players to play for extremely unreasonable amounts of time to win the race, but we will monitor how long it takes our players to accomplish this goal and adjust if necessary for next time. This is something we would like to continue doing for our future hero releases, so please let us know your feedback in our Discord.

Fault will be holding a special Valentine's Day event this weekend! It will run from Saturday 12th 13:00 EST to Monday 14th 23:59 EST. The event has some perks for all players who participate, so let’s jump into all the details and show you what you can expect.

Double XP Throughout the event, players in a party of at least 2 will be awarded double XP. This includes both Account AND Mastery XP, so use this as an opportunity to finish those masteries you’ve been chasing!

We will go free to play when the game is ready for it. I see you saying there is 100 different answers but the answer is always the same: It's missing features we want to be ready before that happens, including the stability of the game.

If we went F2P now, there would be a surge of players in the short term, sure, but that's not what we want.

We still need a bot mode and interactive tutorial for new player onboarding instead of just dropping them straight into PVP. This is essential and something we are actively working hard on. This could be the best game ever made, 0 bugs, perfect balance, 1000 heroes covering every single play style imaginable, but if you force new players into a real game and they get dunked on from the get go, they will not want to keep playing.

Mastery system and other player retention incentives are also needed to keep players engaged.
