I double checked this and there was a change to The Price of Protection for the event - the minimum level for the card is now 80. Seems that the reason for this is that there was going to be an abundance of them, too much for a non-voided event. There are still more than you'd get from the core game but now not so many that it would be problematic. Sorry that this was not publicly noted sooner!
You need to be logged in and have the correct time settings on your Path of Exile account for the local time in the news to display correctly. It starts in 11.5 hours from the time of this comment.
The Flashback Event starts tomorrow. This runs in parallel to the current league Synthesis. They'll both end on June 4th at 10am (NZT).
The next league is currently scheduled for June 8th (NZT) but that's not yet locked in. Typically the patch notes for these leagues are posted 2-3 days before the launch so people can start planning their builds.
If you're playing in Synthesis or Flashback, your characters will migrate to their parent league when it ends. For example, if you're playing in Hardocre Synthesis, your character will go to the Hardcore permanent league at the end....

Most stuff goes on sale eventually. Some things like the Lightning Scorpion Pet very rarely go on sale. (Once a year at the most). The only thing I can think of that never goes on sale is the Purple Bundle because its natural price is already heavily discounted.

Can you clarify how long the league is? This post says "this weekend's flashback event" but the post on POE's website says it goes on for a month. Aside from the level 35 prize is the drawing for everything else done at the end of the event?
Sorry if these are dumb questions but I've never done one of these flash leagues before.

Do you ahve to start a new char in the flashback event? I'm new on ps4 and don't get it fully. Or will lvling a new char just increase your chances for rewards?
Yep, you need to make a new character. It's a fresh economy. You can continue your Synthesis challenge progress in the Flashback Event, however.
Are the rewards going to have rank based flavor text like in the past?
