Servers are split into shards so it sounds like you were on separate shards while being on the same server. The queue is based on the shard.
That is what used to happen for race leagues. You could make characters 30 minutes beforehand and waiting for the race to say "go" to start. Is adding that to new leagues that hard? seems like this has been a consistent problem for years
It has some other implications that we need to consider but this is definitely part of the ongoing discussion we're having about this.
If I'm currently in que, can you reply if this is something you've fixed so I can re-que? Or is this something that will just fix itself and it will start going faster?
We are still investigating the cause so your best bet is to stay in the queue for now.
We are still investigating the cause of this but they are definitely moving slower than is acceptable.
It's not a server issue. Having said that, this is an unacceptable situation. We are still investigating the cause of the queues clearing so slowly so that we can prevent this from happening again.
Thanks for the report. We will get this resolved.
I'm in que for 1h at this point. Is this acceptable? Is this why we buy support packs? And yeah I did that for years at this point with minimal QoL improvement from GGG
It's absolutely not acceptable. We're really sorry about the delay, we understand it completely hampers the experience of getting to play. We're investigating what happened so we can make sure it doesn't happen again.

Thank you for this.

It's not a server issue.
Its hard to provide detail when the game crashes straight to desktop without an error message.
That's a helpful detail, thank you. Are you able to tell me what you were doing prior to the crash?
Hi,
I crashed right after Brutus upon zoning into prisoner's gate and moving. I had 4 people in party with me at the time. I used Dash. Nobody did anything else. No error message. Hope this helps even in the slightest
It does, thank you.
Why are the servers not prepared for a big expansion like this? There are 200k watching and more trying to play...
It's not a server issue that causes this. We do significantly expand our server capacity prior to a league launch.
Did you happen to get an error message? Did you crash to the login screen or did the game close?

Crashed in the ledge without any special things happening as well, just dropping some holy flame totems on mobs and bam, 50k queue
Did you happen to get an error message? Did you crash to the login screen or did the game close?
Crashed quite literally as I picked up the rusted sword on the beach.

We're investigating these crashes. Are you able to provide more information about what happened prior to the crash? Did you get an error message when this happened?
A switch back to the model of letting people create character before the league actual starts and have most people go through queue before the league starts would probably be a good idea in the future imo.
We are discussing that as an option as a result of the queue moving slower than expected today.
We're checking into this! If this happens to you, please provide as much detail about what happened as possible and we will pass this onto the team to investigate.
