Hello, Captains and Heroes! As some of you may have heard, I have the pleasure of becoming a new Community Manager for World of Warships North America! I’d love to tell you a little bit about some of my new tasks and where I come from! I have been playing the game since around May 2017 and have accumulated over 10K battles during that time. I’ve played Clan Battles for two years as part of clan [TNG] and even shared responsibility for leading the clan for over a year now. During that time my skills as a competitive-focused player grew significantly as we battled with NA’s finest clans and players and I’m proud to consider myself a highly-attuned competitive player in World of Warships modes like Clan Battles and the most competitive tournaments. During the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, I joined a new podcast created with the purpose surveying the variety of different clans and their leaders. We wanted to learn about their culture, clan structure, and start putting ...

Sorry to hear that - I recall that same sentiment when Dead-eye was introduced, but people gradually stopped doing that up until DeadEye was removed. Now my experience is that, sure, some folks will snipe too much in their BB's, but most will still "play the objective'.
You gotta remember that, if your BB's are pushing too hard, they cannot escape if they come under concentrated fire. Further, the closer they get to where enemy DD's are (likely screening int he front and contesting caps), then they open themselves up to torpedo strikes.
A smart BB will ride that fine line between "Close enough to land shells consistently" and "Far enough away to avoid taking foolish damage".

You're correct that BB's in WoWs have long range because of "muh history" because WW1 and WW2 battleships DID in fact have long range and did in fact USE long range :) . That is modeled into the game.
As for "BB's are designed to push", I'm not sure what gives you that impression. The two BB's that I listed are indeed designed to be BETTER at pushing, but only when the circumstances are appropriate! As nearly anyone can tell you, pushing too early in a Kremlin or GK will result in a fiery and spectacular death for only you =D

If you're looking for ships that are generally unable to be sniped, I recommend the coal ship "Napoli" with exceptional stealth, firepower, AND armor with a smokebomb for running and torpedoes for surpising!
Battleships at high tier generally do end up in long-range standoffs with other BB's or heavy cruisers, but it seems to me by design. That's what BB's do! If you are a fan of battleships designed to get in close and tear things up, you might also like the Kremlin or Grosser Kurfurst - it just requires some patience and careful selection of where to make your push!

10K battles in and I'm still to earn a Solo Warrior - much less 3...
Congrats!

If I'm full secondaries on the Bismarck then I will take this build and sometimes rotate between:
T1 - Preventative Maintenance or Pyrotech for extra secondary fires.
T2 - Grease the Gears or Vigilance to help dodge / tank Torps
T4 - I take Manuals / Heal / Fire Res for maximum tankiness
The key, IMO is to be careful not to rush in too early. Better to wait until the map reveals itself a bit, then use islands to get close to an enemy and trap them in secondary range.

@Grand_Admiral_Murrel
I am probably the only CC that really caused a ruckus about the secondary adjustment that came from the first commander skill rework earlier this year. I am going to share with you my perception of how secondaries have been adjusted this year and let you know why I actually feel the opposite.
Pre Skill-rework secondaries were mostly a meme. A few ships could use them effectively, but really it was limited to T8 and above ships. T7 and below did not benefit fully from manual targeting.
Upon the rework secondaries got a boost in range (positive) and the ability to fire from both sides even while manually targetting (positive), at the expense of a general decrease in accuracy (negative). All in all, I felt that secondaries received a net negative as the loss in overall accuracy when compared to the pre-work seemed to outweigh the gain in versatility. One thing to note, however, was that all ships T7 and below started to receive the sam...

Having already played Napoli quite a bit - I can tell you guys that this bote is NOT a damage farmer in the same way that Petro is not a damage farmer. It's a special bote that benefits ENORMOUSLY from a player that knows exactly it's limitations and it's strenghts:
The concealment, the smoke-bomb, the torpedoes, and the super-troll armor thresholds.
With the ice-breaker on the front and the upper hull being invulnerable to overmatch, you can easily charge down enemy cruisers on a flank that don't have torpedoes and even charge battleships that don't have hydro / radar themselves. DD's are certainly dangerous, it's true - but that's where the SAP-secondaries actually shine: when a DD gets close and engages.

@Nikolay_Kuznetsov_
That's why there are two links :) . One is to YouTube and one is to Anchor. There is no literal live video but if YouTube is more your thing then that's an option.

Boggzy and Borla have finally achieved the dream! They've managed to get a group of clans that all function as a group in discord but operate independently. Afterwards clans [SALVO], [FORM], and [BINGO] weigh in on whether Warships is finally becoming World of Warplanes.

I've only ever strived to be decent!
Thank you for watching :)
I have to say - I don't see the "purge" here. Zoup is the only NA CC to exit the program recently. Just because it was dramatic, doesn't mean it was profound.

Clan Battles start today and that means it's time for a VERY special episode where the experts of "death from above" get together to talk about what YOU need to know going into Season 13! This season Boggzy and Borla bribed Reimu_Bakarei [-REI-], [O7]'s _Triarch, and [KSC]'s own cableguy2211 and Ahskance to sit down with them and explain the finer workings of the FDR, the Hakuryu, and the Max Immelman! Lots of detail and mechanics here, folks and we get these hoodlums to weigh in on what it would take to "refloat" the sunken Audacious!
