We gave it a 30 minute timer so people could get safe before things go offline - hopefully won’t be down too long as we revert (may take 15 minutes).

Trust me, we don’t want to have to shut it down any more than you guys :cold_sweat:

Post

We’re investigating a node death which has resulted in markets and contracts becoming inoperable in game.

The issue is being worked on and we let you know here and on the EVE Status twitter account as more information becomes available.

Update 12:04: ESI is being disabled while we troubleshoot this issue.

Update 12:25: Tranquility Server is being shut down with a 30 minute timer as we roll back changes made to the server during today’s downtime. While not the cause, this rollback will revert the Griffin Navy fix and the Black Market Tax Haven updates from today’s patch notes until this issue is resolved.

Update 12:55: Tranquility is offline for rollback. This process may take 15 minutes before Tranquility is accessible again.

Update 13:06: Tranquility is now accepting connections.

If you check out the FAQ down at the bottom of the partnership page I’ve touched on larger teams a bit.

If there is a large team working towards a singular end product that would probably be considered as a single partnership - however we will take larger teams into consideration and potentially offer additional rewards. If multiple teams are working on multiple different areas, all under a larger umbrella such as INN then that would likely be separate apps / partnerships which we would consider individually.

Comment

If you do multiple things feel free to mention that in your app, but for the most part we may only look at your ‘largest’ area in terms of sizing you up for acceptance. You don’t need to meet requirements on all platforms you participate in, just one.

o7 Capsuleers,

We have just announced a new Partnership Program for all of those creative individuals who spend their time and talents making out-of-game content for EVE Online such as streams, blogs, podcasts, third party apps and more. Please use this thread for feedback on this new program!

And we’re fixed!

Update 16:50: A hotfix has been deployed which should resolve this issue - please dock up and restart your client to receive the new patch.

This is something we’ve discussed, I’d really like to see this as well.

Post

There is a known issue with the market where, when updating an order, the first digit of your entry does not enter correctly - this can cause your sale to be much lower than intended.

We are aware of this issue and a patch is currently being prepared to resolve it.

We will keep you informed as further information becomes available.

You can still use the environment for things like black holes or abyssal ‘yeet’ clouds. It’s just that things like sunbounces would have nothing to do with the ships themselves.

That is indeed a symptom of the issue I outlined above. Distribution of ice belts does not seem to be working as intended and is being looked into.

Ice is certainly still spawning and in the intended qualities - just perhaps not as spread out as intended. This change was indeed for scarcity reasons: stimulating trade and ensuring the time spent to extract it has appropriate value.

Hello again,

Sorry I didn’t get back to you right at the start of the week. I’ve been chasing this around trying to get more details and discuss the changes internally. The feedback, observations and Naverin’s chart have been really useful for me in these discussions so thank you for that.

I’ve clarified the way this change was intended to function:

At downtime some percentage of ice belts will spawn (in those systems with icebelts). Once mined out, these icebelts will then respawn after some time in another system that can also contain icebelts. You can think of it as being similar to how anomalies respawn, except it would be limited to ice systems.

However, this doesn’t seem to be what you guys are reporting as actually happening in game where ice systems are either ‘on’ or ‘off’ for the day. I’ve flagged this to the team and they are looking into it now - thank you for helping me to identify the issue. Should the intended functionality here be achieved...

Velocity Blessed Capsuleers,

Do you have a need for speed? With the recent overheat bonus added to combat interceptors we want to see just how fast you can go!

We’re holding a short competition over the next week where we want to see a screenshot or short clip of your top speed in a combat interceptor on Tranquility - and be sure to let us know the story of how you achieved it!

1st Place: 500 PLEX + Howling Interceptors SKIN Bundle
2nd / 3rd: 250 PLEX + Howling Interceptors SKIN Bundle
3rd - 5th: Howling Interceptors SKIN Bundle

In the case of speed ties the first submission will be counted as faster! And for those clever capsuleers out there, no - sunbounces, POS bowling or warping don’t count! Your ship must reach top speed under its own power. We will stop accepting new entries after Monday November 2nd 2020.

Entries will be accepted either as posts in this thread or via replies to our posts related to this contest on social media.

Looking at all of our current connection metrics everything today seems to be fine. The odd spikes yesterday are no longer occurring and abnormal logout rates are at baseline.

If there is an issue that we are not seeing in the metrics, then we will need tickets to Customer Support with details on RL location, what ISP they are connecting through, what kind of network (wired vs wireless, ADSL vs fiber). Also a traceroute from their local computer to tranquility.servers.eveonline.com and a SpeedTest to a nearby location with the ticket.

So if you or your eve friends are still having connection issues please reach out to us at ...

Hmm, I may have misunderstood in my discussion with the team. It’s sounding more like the chance for a system to have ice at all for that day has been reduced, and not the respawn chance.

I will pass along the feedback here and try and get clarification once we’re back to work next week.

While not related to the original issue of this thread, we’ve had a few small spikes in logouts that we’ve been monitoring today but it’s been rather sporadic and not everyone is effected - but it is being investigated.

As of the last couple hours things are appearing more stable.

Comment

I believe this is independent of downtime much as ice belt spawns were previously - but if I find out otherwise I’ll let you know.

Comment

Hey guys, I’m looking into this now and will get back to you as soon as I have more info to share.

My current understanding is that systems that had ice should all still have ice spawns but I need to clarify what exactly it was that was reduced. I know the ‘The spawn probability of all Ice Sites has been reduced’ from the patch notes is a bit confusing when they were previously guaranteed to come back on that 4 hour timer after being mined out.

Update: Okay so I’ve clarified what’s happening here. As you’re aware, previously ice belts were guaranteed to respawn in system 4 hours from when they were mined out. This respawn chance is no longer 100% guaranteed and so it is possible for belts to not come back exactly 4 hours later - it may take them some time longer to re-appear. The number of belts in a system hasn’t actually been changed and each will be rolling for its own chance to respawn if they’re all mined out. This will mean there will likely be l...
