Read more External link →I've been working on the writing/narrative these days, so I can tell you a bit of what's to come!
We've added weekly quests that will add more context to each season's story. Right now, these are from NPCs in Ramsgate. Although, there is some investigation on putting NPCs on islands too, but that's a maybe... This HP was all about chatting with the Orrery and dealing with the Unseen. The next HP, Warlords of Krolach, is about forming an alliance with the Krolachi people. The citizens Slayers of Ramsgate will need to come together to prove their worth to them.
These weekly quests is just a small step, but hopefully we can do more in the future!
Right now, we're looking for ways that players can engage with the seasonal stories through gameplay, and some interesting stuff has come up in conversations... Pie in the sky, I would love to see more island events that tie directly to the conflict with Ostia. I would love to see the conflict in the Hunting Grounds ...

Chatting with deisngers about this, and this change wasn't meant to be a major rebalance at this time.
This is an effort to lay a good foundation and future proof builds. This will help us make compelling perks in previous underused categories without them feeling out of place.
It also gave us a chance to make sure certain categories weren't over used. Technique had a TON of meta perks in there for example.

That first paragraph is the entire issue for me. A nice storyline and INVOLVING gameplay is what could really make this game better. Theres no drive. Even the main questline is a progress marker more than anything.
In a perfect world, we could have both!
Thanks a ton for the feedback. We're asking a lot of these same questions now. We want to inject narrative into the gameplay itself so the world feels more cohesive. We have a long way to go, but it's definitely on our minds.
