Why? It is a map redesign, but these open building models already exist within their map editor. I also do not think using open building models is any more demanding performance wise.
Thinking about it, it would be even more awesome if the map editor was released allowing the community to create custom maps to play on private servers.
Well, we had many maps with many open buildings and no one actually walked in them back in the day. They didnt add much to the game, so some were closed off, like in the war.
Plus, each open building with full decoration does impact performance, so key is to find a nice balance like we have now in the majority of maps.

Steam deck isn’t out yet, it also uses anticheat software working which last I heard valve were working with to have working for release.
True... there were a small amount of DEV kits available and we didnt made the cut... so we just need to wait and see when the deck either launches or when they are available again...

Should be temporarily fixable with changing AA. We are working on a wider fix in the meantime.
Could you add an LOD setting so the pop in distance can be determined by the user?
That has even more of a heavier impact on performance. But, not impossible. A transition is the best in these situations.
A D3D error can usually being fixed by DDU your GPU drivers. A fix has been posted in Discord:

This is not how game engines work unfortunately. Its either the pop ins for more optimization, or the fade with a performance impact but a nicer transition.

For optimization we have these pop ins. But it seems that many prefer better transitions over FPS, so we hope we can test some solutions out with some cost on the FPS to make a fix for this issue.

Yes, we are aware of this issue. The PC roadmap had the section called "Custom LODs". They should fix them over time and they will show up on Console too. No worries!

More optimizing work is coming, but it will be there for more stability instead of increasing palyercounts.
