We are aware of a similar issue which does ultimately seem to resolve on its own, which may be the case for you eventually, but nonetheless we still need to remedy this. Sorry for the inconvenience, we’re looking in to it.

Hello! This was implemented as part of our launcher improvements, and should have no impact on performance. However, it will be removed soon, as it doesn’t quite meet our requirements.

The crashes you’re experiencing appear to related to your Windows Page File.

Could you please ensure your ‘Virtual Memory’ is set to ‘Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives’ by:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > System and Security
  2. Select ‘System’
  3. Select ‘Advanced system settings’
  4. Under the ‘Advanced’ tab, select the ‘Settings’ button underneath ‘Performance’
  5. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab
  6. Select the ‘Change’ button underneath ‘Virtual memory’
  7. Ensure the ‘Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives’ checkbox is marked
  8. Restart your PC

Our developer has asked if you would be willing to see if this works?:

  1. Navigate to the ‘launcher’ directory, which should have a path similar to this on your PC: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\launcher
  2. Open the ‘x86’ directory
  3. Copy the contents of the x86 directory
  4. Paste the contents of the ‘x86’ directory in to the ‘launcher’ directory, which will overwrite some of the existing contents

Then, see if the “normal” launcher works. Let me know if you have any questions!

Comment

Understood! Our launcher developer is looking in to it, but in the mean time please continue to use the workaround. Sorry about this!
