Maintaining and working on the World of Warships Wiki is no small feat, but luckily the platform is supported by an amazing group of volunteers that support and work on keeping the platform up to date!

While anyone can submit changes to the Wiki, we are looking to bring on some more official volunteers to help prepare pages for upcoming content and revising sections of existing changes.

In joining as an official volunteer for the Wiki will also grant access to the Privateer program and its benefits.

Interest piqued?

Things we're looking for in editors:

Being able to objectively write how to play a ship regardless of it's status in the meta (I.e. good or bad ships),

Bullet point pros and cons of a ship

Articles on ship design and history

Articles on national ship flavor/design philosophy

Ability to maintain individual shi...

Heyo Nutaz,

Certain sections of the Wiki pull directly from the API for the game. The research price is one of those.

In such, those details will be automatically updated with the release of 0.8.8.0 and the API updating.

Heyo Captains

Can confirm this will be the full patch of 0.8.8.0 which will contain the celebrations for the games anniversary on the 17th.

Considering the birthday falls on Tuesday, we wanted to have all the content available ahead of this to avoid delivering a patch on the release of the Birthday.

Its a one-off in this instance and patches will return back to the traditional Wednesday release once again :)

Heyo Guys.

As noted by a few of you, with more players getting their hands on her and her game count increasing we're starting to see the trend of this ship begin to fall in line with her expected stat levels in relation to other ships of that tier and class. Furthermore, players are becoming more experienced and knowledgeable with how to counter the ship as time has gone on.

One thing that is important to consider when ships get released, is typically the early adopters of a ship are some of the most experienced and invested in the game resulting in an overall higher skill level playing the particular ship, as time goes on and the average skilled player-base begins to adopt a ship we see stats begin to average out to expected levels. This similar trend was also seen with Starlingard, a ship at release that was deemed incredibly OP.

We do balance ships with the average player in mind. Balancing a ship that "over-performs" in the hand...

You are able to sign up on the website currently: https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/public-test/submarines-qna/ and further details are provided there.

Existing lines of DDs will be upgraded to include the depth charge mechanics, it not be a case of new lines with depth charges with old lines not having access.

Heyo Everyone.

I get where you're coming from. You're all skeptical on submarines, rightly so. Its a big change and addition coming off of a rocky road the was the CV rework, which as we've admitted was troublesome and poorly communicated in places.

With this I would remind you of some key facts coming from the very Alpha gameplay footage that was shown at Gamescom and its related streams:

Specific numerical characteristics are WIP, including but not limited to:

Damage from Standard/Homing/Magnetic Torpedoes

Speed of the submarine at the various levels of depth

Rates of oxygen use and replenishment

Number of submarines per game

Damage capability of HE/AP/SAP against submarines

Damage capability of depth charges against submarines

AWS (Automatic Weap...

Unfortunately, that's not really feasible.

Rewards and placements are recorded at the designated time to capture the placement of all players at that instance (usually coincides with the server reset for the day). By asking us to take the individual player at their placement at the time, would have to be taken for each individual player at probably every other second. Technologically this is an unrealistic ask.

While yes, we have no expectation for you to play into the night - we do encourage moderation with player game-time, we do have to ensure that all players in all timezones of the server have equal access to the events.

Heyo Merc,

I will agree, the nature of DD play has adapted since the rework, however the core mechanics of how EXP is earned by players which is what OP states they feel has changed, has not - which is more what I was addressing. While some things have changed negatively for the destroyer, there has also been positives with the change of the rework beneficial to the DD:

Considerably less "First Blood / Dev Strikes" on DDs at the start of the game.

Planes no longer have the ability to spot torpedoes.

CVs no longer able to provide map wide spotting at once (Remember CVs spotting all three caps at once?).

While it can be frustrating for the DD player to be spotted by the CV please consider this in reverse:

To maintain spotting on a DD the CV player has to sacrifice a limited defensive consumable for his team

Depending on the DD positioning, the CV player ma...

Heyo Everyone.

So good news is: Philippe Auboyneau will appear in the Armory and will be available for an undecided resource at a future date, so if you do not have the time to receive him through directives there will be opportunity in the future. If you do not have the time to grind him out, you will be able to get him in the future.

We are very understanding that players of different background have different day-to-day responsibilities and thus different time periods to play and work towards rewards and missions. As such, we do try to provide various offerings for players to redeem instead of just one major prize. That is why we have increased the intermediary rewards to include more value such as doubloons. Nevertheless, we do want the top reward to in fact be rewarding for those who put in the effort to obtain it. Nothing good in life is easy after-all.

We do understand there is a concern from players that there may be too many...

Heyo,

Chiming in on this as I have personally been involved in majority of the programs on offer before joining WG in an official capacity in which I now manage some of the program.

Firstly; information on majority of the programs can be found in the Community Programs Section of the forums which gives a broad overview of the programs and their intentions.

Onto your main questions:

All of these programs are volunteer based, participants are not paid nor employed by Wargaming. They are selected for programs based on their activities in and outside the game and are offered the opportunity to test WIP content and provide feedback on it. In some programs they do get to keep the ships after testing and have access to items for giveaways. Some programs, participation in providing feedback through either written, verbal, or gameplay means is a requirement to remain active in the program, others it is more voluntary ...

Heyo Grimmortals,

We have no made any major changes in the way EXP/Credits gets rewarded to ships for actions in a considerable time. Therefore, at least from our end we cannot correlate that to the way in which DDs are choosing to conduct their gameplay. In the last year or two we have seen an increase in ships with the ability to hamper DDs from preforming these functions (yes, I'm talking about Radar) but have consequently balanced this with changes made to Radar (6 second delay for enemy spotting). There is EXP/Credits rewarded for capturing and defending caps:

Full Capture:

EXP = 2/3rd of killing a ship

Credits = 1/3rd of killing a ship

Shared Capture/Defense:

EXP = % of capture/defense X 2/3rd of killing a ship

Credits = % of capture/defense X 1/3rd of killing a ship

While it is hard to force ...

Currently we have not released any info on commander skills or consumables for submarines beyond speculation on some ideas.

Given that DDs already have quite a few tasks going on at once, we do not feel like its necessary to add yet another "task" for them. We did actually do some testing on having the depth charges being manually deployed however results from these tests found that this really didn't add anything valuable to the gameplay experience.

Heyo

Thanks for including a video, this is definitely not an intentional feature. Now to determine on whether it was a bug with your client or the game as a whole.

If possible, could you please provide me the replay files, and WGChecks for your game so I can submit this for review with our tech team.

I would advise you to also remove any mods you may have on your client and run a check and repair in the meantime.

The only question that is stupid is the one not asked!

As others have mentioned, it is a consumable plane dropped by an aircraft squadron which lasts ~60 seconds and will patrol the space from enemy aircraft.

If an enemy aircraft enters the circle, the plane will chase down and attempt to take down the enemy squadron. They can also be used to spot a location for their duration of flight.

Myself,

After resetting some lines with the RB, I need to regrind my UK and German Cruisers.

Eventually I'll get them back, just been a little too busy with organizing some fun activities for the community atm.
