Can you speak as to why it wasn't communicated, though? I searched here on reddit all the way back to the patch notes on Tues, and through the various Treyarch Twitter accounts, and saw nothing. Was only through looking myself in game that I saw it was changed...
Change came in via a game settings update yesterday and was scheduled to be announced, but was swept up within the blog launch. - I believe it was scheduled to be outlined in today's Reddit update.
Edit: Did however plan to engage any thread regarding the issue as per this exchange.
There was a reported issue sometime on Wed that redeploys were bugged, and not giving the Strife or bandies when you did so. No other communication beyond acknowledging the report was given, however, and sometime between that report and 5 am Thurs morning (when I checked it myself), they reverted it back to Quads...
This post is the first I've seen about it being back to Quads, as well; /u/TreyarchPC /u/FoxhoundFPS care to chime in, maybe?

Thank you for replying, as a PC player sometimes it's hard to get things noticed when bugs and issues are PC-only related.

Any update about not being able to level MKII if you don't have the base unlocked?

Our Contracts blog is going through final approvals and will be posted later this week. We'll make note of this in today's Reddit update too but wanted to jump in and share here.
I suspect that this is caused by you not using the Default keybinding preset. Try using that to reset your keybinds first, then adjust your custom binds accordingly.
Paging /u/FoxhoundFPS for possible forwarding of this issue to Beenox.
Deleting bindings.cfg from within the players folder is the best bet for resetting. Make sure to delete them from the Battle.net profile folder as well. This is a folder within the players folder.
Any information regarding an unintended partial or full keybind reset would be great to pass along to the team.

I could hear him rapid firing the Rampage all game and I realized what was up pretty early in the match. Luckily ended up only being killed by him once and clipped it.
Edit: upon rewatching the video apparently he killed me 3 times so I guess when I first joined he killed me a couple times before I noticed.
