Time2Penis < 3 hours
its time to shoot mactera
its time to strip the cave
its time to steal big bug eggs
and the minerals that we crave
its time to rock and stone now
its time to toss some flares
its time to chug some craft beer
as we hover in the air
why do we always dig here
on the world of Hoxxes IV
lets all dash to the drop pod
theres C4 on the door
flailing Kermit arms
glad to see a dev would rather double down than perhaps see how a suicidal person could see what could easily be construed as telling someone to kill themselves and maybe just having a bit of empathy
so very rock and stone of you
Alright, I’ll try to avoid using in-game terminology that can be misunderstood in the context that I am using it in.
"if you are rude you should kill yourself" is a pretty bad take lad
An airlock is the only way to exit something in space. Notice I used the word “exit through”, not “eject”, notblow out” Now that I’ve explained that, whatever extra context you still apply to it is on you.
Some of you need to go learn just a little bit of compassion, decency, and manners. If you won't, you can exit the space rig through the nearest airlock (Edit: wear a suit & stay safe).
That DRG doesn't have female dwarves is not really a nod to tropes about female dwarves being indistinguishable from male dwarves. It's something we've wanted to do and planned to do, but as time went by, we've realized that changing the in-game systems to do it properly is a gigantic task. Basically, our character model is a lumpy potato, and adding a different body type would require us to do a sh*t-tonne of updating existing assets, so we've shelved those plans. When the time comes to do another project we won't make the same mistake again.
That said if you want it to be your headcanon that you can't tell the difference - then, by all means, go ahead. We just don't feel comfortable taking such an easy way out.
And it's something that I'm proud of.
I appreciate the replies/steam of "shut up you're wrong".
Here's a quick screengrab of my level 20 scout who has apparantly never upgraded his flare gun or shotgun or pickaxe. All the bosco and "alien gun" cosmetics are gone. My driller who had loads of those fun beards with the bolts and jewels mixed in seemingly only has the default one. You can see from the gem currency at the top i've played a passable amount previous...
So I'm really not sure what's been going on but it is a little annoying when you come back to the game to be faced with this. I will troop on through though! :)
Well, it’s probably because nothing has been reset, but I get while it could seem like it from your POV.
We haven’t done that in the three years I’ve been with Ghost Ship, so something else is probably off. Try using restore save in the options.
Are deep dive levels curated? They always seem to be quite… unique? As if a few were generated then the “good” ones deliberately chosen. I would imagine this would be done with some sort of godmode/noclip/fullbright setup to make it quicker
They’re all RNG. Curating them would be a big task (we know, because we do it around launch of updates if it makes sense to get new content guaranteed in the Deep Dives). The system is supposed to be self-contained and it works 99% of the time, and when it doesn’t we’ll fix it. Either way, the Deep Dives refresh every Thursday, so it’s no disaster in the end.
Dude's being a prick but this isn't the first time this has happened, to be fair to him. There's been a couple other times I remember when it's been close to impossible to find all the morkite
There's been a few cases of some hard-to-find veins, but aside from one specific incident that was fixed soon after it was discovered. I don't think there's been any like this, where it's the exact number needed (which shouldn't be possible, but RNG's gonna RNG). It's an outlier, and now that it happened, we can fix the issue. It's a consequence of procedural generation and luckily (knock on wood) it's extremely rare.
He's saying if the devs had run through the deep dive start to finish once, there is a good chance they'd have caught this.
My argument is, who cares? This deep dive happens to be particularly hard (but not impossible) due to a mistake on the devs side, that may not be corrected because it happened to occur during the week of one of the biggest holidays in the western world.
So, f**k it. 1/133weeks is a fine track record. They are honest about the mistake and I trust that they will avoid this happening again. Lots of people have time off this weekend, and I imagine it will make the bug more noticeable.
I know what point he is trying to make, but being a dick he got the short answer. To elaborate, we don’t do that because (like you said) we’d do it 2x133 times before catching something that’s supposed to be impossible. So, now we’ve caught that outlier and will fix it.
As a programmer with lots of experience in PCG, his comment really hit me the wrong way haha. Devs will probably look into why this came up or wasn’t caught when back. It’s not a big deal lol.
Bingo!
The slightest amount of playtesting would catch this.
I wouldn't tell my customers that it'll have to wait until Monday lmao, what a joke
“Slightest amount of playtesting”
Hey, have you ever heard of procedurally generated levels?
Any bite-szed info on a balance pass (if any)?
Nope. I think some stuff might change (possibly Sludge Pump gettin’ some love) but I can’t remember any details.
Idk if that deep rock guy in here sees all these comments but this developer has become my all time favorite. A deep and option heavy game that has a simple premise to jump in. Constant updates and balanced gameplay with things to do that keep me coming back. No insane micro transactions.
I’ve actively bought dlc when I can just to make sure this company gets support because I just want them to succeed and keep making killer content/games.
Keep killing it ghostie bois
❤️
Do we have new maps, missions or music?
Nope
u/GSG_Jacob What’s the reason for S2 on console later?
Console deployment has a lot of hoops to jump through per update and patch. Those do not exist on Steam, where we can pretty much build and deploy right away.
So, while this kinda sucks for the console people at first glance, Steam lets us run an experimental version (open, usually joined by a bunch of players) a week or so before, collect feedback from that for the final launch on Steam (for an even bigger bunch of players).
Those two events give us a lot of invaluable feedback on how things are running, that we'd have no chance of getting without letting the update out into the wild. Due to the procedural nature of the game, there's SO much stuff happening, that we simply wouldn't see without player feedback on a live build.
All that initial feedback and bug reports turn into fixes that goes into the console release that we usually launch a week or two later. This is good since the update process is less smooth. It also lets our QA team focus on one version at a ti...
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: f*ck yes!
Longer answer: Yes, all the frameworks will have versions for new weapons.
It says Steam 4/28 and consoles 5/5. Where does Xbox on PC fall? 5/5?
Same as Xbox, since those two are crossplay.
Is the 'industrial sabotage' mission from S1 sticking around?
Yes
