He did not do that, I did. I got a lill box crazy!

All that being said, a ship is only as good as her Capt.... if I am a DD and push in within secondary range of secondary heavy ships and am spotted, that is my own fault. If I am in a BB and drive broadside to a Mass, that is my own fault... I am not saying that this was the case in this battle but.....

Tools are only as effective as the user.

Feel free to look above, since I DID tell you why things are the way they are. And what you're saying is NOT always true. There are things we can and things we cannot discuss. Please stop saying things like this as it is not constructive at all to the conversation at hand.

Here is the problem with what you say, they are not abusing the mechanic, it is set up to be that way, DDs don't have the armor or HP that other ships have and over time a player can learn how to fire into smoke and accurately predict where a DD is if they constantly are firing out of the smoke, furthermore, a CV player can learn where to drop their bombs or rockets by watching where the AA is coming from.

There are plenty of counters to a ship smoking up.

Smoke does NOT make a ship impervious.

Comment

Ships in smoke ONLY have vision if someone else is spotting for them, so this is not true. Smoke works both ways.

Aloha Shipmate,

Firstly thank you for your service!

So the key thing here is this is an ARCADE style game not a simulation, so in most cases you need to throw realism out the window. When we say we try to follow SOME historical and realistic nuances that, in some cases, means we try to follow those things in terms of content, not always mechanics.

That being said, being a historical ARCADE game, balance is required.

Also the IJN Shimakaze DID have 3x5 610mm Long Lance torpedo launchers who's torps would travel 40,000 meters or roughly 21.5 nautical miles, so being able to drop 15 torpedo over the horizon (or not being visible) WAS a thing.

Remember what you might find fun, some others may not. If we were to limit the torps that DDs carry we would also be limiting the ammo that other ships would carry.

New Dockyard, new conditions for combat missions, a revamped Armory, changes to unique upgrades, and other improvements.

IMPORTANT! Because the Update is still being tested, the information in this Bulletin is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the Update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics will not necessarily be relevant after the update is released.

Dockyard

The main feature of Update 0.9.5 is the Dockyard, where players will be able to construct two German ships at once: Admiral Graf Spee and Odin. The Dockyard rules have been simplified in comparison to the previous iteration.

Note: Odin will not be available for testing on the PTS

This question has been an ongoing thing, AND mostly because we don't put in suggestions or changes that are given from feedback in the time frame that people typically like.

The gaming industry and game development is always fluid. We are in update 0.9.4 currently and our Devs are already working on 0.9.6 or .7. Things like suggestions about changes can take as much as a year sometimes.

Case in point, we have been saying we are looking at data and balancing ships on a regular basis, ships like Henry the IV or CVs. (CV aircraft spotting has been changed now 5 times in the last 6 months).

Feedback, especially good, constructive feed back is always listened to, regardless of what a lot of people think.

Aloha,

Our management has not changed. And TBH I take personal insult that you think we would do things "out of spite" to the community, this is NOT the case. We have been doing EA access for a VERY long time now. And they have always been OPTIONAL, players can spend money and do the EA, grind for the EA or don't get involved in EA.

We have stated this from the beginning. Though I agree with some of you that I don't necessarily want the perma-camo's that go on tech tree ships, so I am in no hurry to burn my tokens. Until I have enough to jump directly to the next ship, I do know that many of us have enough FXP to jump straight to through the tech tree upon release.

People talk about how we have too much content sometimes, but we have to release content at the pace we are doing because people think they have to have EVERYTHING the day of release and this is a bit unrealistic. We cannot change how people interact with games, we may guide...

And this is my point. We put it in a lot of places for a reason. We DO NOT want to spam you guys with a pop up that says "look here" Every single game is this way. They post news and patch notes to their website and or a "DevBlog" site. The information is out there for you to find.

You by your own omission say many of our spaces for this information are irrelevant. Except every single one of those except the Devblog site have been around and used in this fashion for YEARS. You may use the Wiki, but we do not run the Wiki, it is run by players. This is why we always say follow our official channels.

Just because you feel a place we put information is irrelevant doesn't mean it is. The majority of our players get their information from these sources because they know this is where they can see it, furthermore we can track activity on those spaces.

A good example of this is the forum use numbers compared to overall server population. The ...
