Aloha,
As stated above, first you get a warning for team damage, then you go pink, then the damage is actually placed on your ship, so ya.
Mahalo,
-Hapa
Make sure the game client is CLOSED and then open them with the WoWs exe file.
Going pink, typically means you had to have dealt a significant amount of damage to a friendly. You only have to play 2 battles without team damage to have the pink status removed.
Use your mini-map as much as possible to see the position of your friendlys to avoid more team damage. This is a hurtle a lot of new players have to get over, having good situational awareness in-game is huge.

Aloha,
This game as some will tell you, has quite a steep learning curve. Unfortunately to become a GOOD BB player, takes a lot of time. The SC is at best an "okay" BB, it is hard to do well in, especially your first couple battles.
With time you see the capabilities of a fully armed and operational USS Montana!
Stay the course.
Mahalo,

Sooner than some of these answers....

Some great suggestions here.
A few simple things first:
#1 though, check the targets you're going after.
are you going after targets that are isolated and off on their own? (if not, do so)
are you going after cruisers (don't do this unless you have to, this isn't always the rule of thumb but a good base to work off of)
are you trying to do multiple strikes with one flight of aircraft? (sometimes this is not a good idea due to the amount of grouped up targets)
And after those three things, your capt build can make a big difference, those suggestions are above so I won't beat that drum
Good question!
Also, just a reminder to some, keep this post on topic!

Aloha,
At the bottom of your screen, you can see the buffs visually. Though this time we did remove the values themselves, is that what you mean?
Mahalo,

Aloha,
I mean if you enjoy a ship..... My top three are definitely the correct 3, though I have not played my Iwaki I don't think in almost a year....
Mahalo,
-Hapa
Yeap, both on my list.
I think we have WAY more stuff wrong with the contact list tho....

If I had a nickel for every time I was yelled at for not getting in a cap as a DD...
TBH, a good DD driver and I'm not saying they are a good one, they may have gotten lucky, but a good DD driver would not hurry to a cap. And TBH, looking at the ships you had, Tier X and such, he was probably trying to be a bit cautious...
Poor DD drivers often will go cap right away and get blapped...
Mahalo,
-Hapa
Just wondering if it's started working for you or not.
Mahalo,
-Hapa
Just my 2 doubloons on the subject... GET DM's!
I can tell you, there is nothing more frustrating than a DM with the UU on that knows how to mess with their throttle to make me miss my shots during an entire battle....
Jst sayin,
-Hapa
I assure you that after the adjustment and we get some data. Any ships that have severe adverse effects will more than likely be looked at. We know the concerns, specifically with Atlanta and Flint, but mechanic changes to the game in the fashion that this IFHE change is going to bring typically makes us look at things like this.
So we are not ignoring your concerns I assure you.
