My intention is to fully retire and relax some. And TBH, I do not think I would want to do this position with any other company.

For me, it had NOTHING to do with WG or the team, it was 100% a personal decision. Also, that being said, the Games industry overall is very normal for people to move around positions fairly shorter time frames than most...

I actually retired in 2018 after almost 22 yrs

Standby for words from the Chief.

So when I retired from the Navy it was for personal reasons. I recognized that I am a workaholic, I was doing more living to work, than working to live. And anyone that has served knows the amount of life you miss being deployed (I deployed 10 times throughout my career, only one deployment was 6mo long). I did some self retrospection and recognized I was falling into the same habits.

As a result I have made the decision that I am leaving Wargaming and the World of Warships team to try to enjoy life. I never needed this position, I wanted it. I love the World of Warships community and everything the World of Warships team does on the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. I have had the wonderful opportunity to be involved in some AMAZING things celebrating people, events and the community. Whether it was interviews with Captain Bob Batterson a WW2 Pearl Harbor veteran, collaborations with Wounded Warrior Project, c...

So telling me the mods you run, doesn't help me, because I am not the mod maker, nor do I really use mods except the nomogram site. That being said, its not normal for us to troubleshoot mods either as when you install mods you are modifying the game (I know that sounds redundant but ya). This is why we always suggest removing all mods and playing the game to see if the bug still occurs.

Also, if you're using Aslains mod pack, I would highly suggest you try to find the mods in our modpack, as you have a direct line of communication then with the mod maker (because there is literally a mod thread in these forums) if there is an issue.

Weird..... Think you can run a WGCheck with "Extended Network Diagnostic" checked? And then submit that in a ticket. We'll be able to see if there is connectivity issues or not with that.

Hmmmm..... literally no download? Possible to get a screenshot of your WGC while its trying?

If it has happened that infrequently, that isn't the same I think of what is being discussed. But I always say, any time you have a game crash or something you think this is a bug always:

A: remove any mods that you may have

B: Run a WGCheck and put a CS ticket in

And this is always before you nuke your client and try to redownload it, because most issues can probably be fixed with a lot less time spent. This saves you time and may help us find a legit problem with the client.

Also, I was more saying what to do as a list in general, not necessarily directed at you.

I'm just curious if the new water graphics change will return this.

Again, pls run a WGCheck and put a ticket in explaining the issue.

The slow download is because the PTS client is maintained on the other side of the planet. Also, remember prime time is from about 11am (rt now) until about 2-3pm central time, this could be slowing your download as well.

I have however, forwarded this up, not sure if there is a lot we can do. Typically I try to tell people if possible start a download of any game (not just ours) before you go to bed, because nowadays, game clients are pretty big.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Folks,

There is a reason why I ask you to remove mods ALWAYS when you see bugs like this. I am not saying this is the case for this bug, but most of our bug reports are due to mod interaction with the client.

Mod makers don't know there is an issue unless someone that uses their mods tells them. We NEED you to pull the mods, play and see if it still does it. It doesn't matter if you think the mod interacts with the end battle results or not.

I have literally seen a cross hair mod crash a client back to port after a battle before.

Hmmmm, thats odd, I know this may not be ideal, could you pull all your mods and play some matches still?
