This is due to a bug with how Windows patches that impacts certain applications. Unfortunately we are one of them. As soon as Microsoft has fixed the issue, patching sizes will go back to a normal size

It seems the first issue was addressed already. Considering the second one hasn’t been reported recently, could you confirm it not happening in a vanilla version of the game? It is possible to have a conflict with any of the 21 games installed in your server that’s interfering with this feature in particular.

There’s not much information to go on with trying to help, but for what I could gather from messages above, it seems you’re using a VPN and the error you’re getting is a TimeOut. Does this happen when trying to load into a server, or when trying to log into Funcom Live Services?

Yes! We have finally reproduced the issue. It proved to be very elusive. It does only happen when playing Outcasts in a retail console. None of the other versions present this issue, and it does not manifest itself in any of our devkits, which is incredibly unusual.
We’re now working on finding the exact cause and address it completely. Having managed to finally reproduce it reliably is a big step forward towards that goal.

The word filter comes by default with the forum software we’re using, with a couple extra words thrown in there to deter some ne’erdowells. We prefer to keep it on because the forums, we’d like to believe, are a more civilized place than the Exiled Lands. It may be frustrating when it catches some silly words here and there. But as any communications place used by many players, there’s an expectation of some basic level of politeness, y’know.

Swear words are great, and I love to use them when casually talking with friends and, dare I say, even to marketing. But trust me, expletives should not be needed to convey a point.

We’re aware of this issue. It has to do with an error introduced in the latest update in regards to the fog system. We’re working to get it fixed in the next patch.
