This is due to the changes made to the feeding system back in March. Any edible consumable put in their inventories is immediately used for a buff.
We understand this is not very intuitive and there might be some changes coming in one of the future big updates.

The fix was submitted and was stuck in certification so it’s going to be bundled with all other fixes in a bigger patch. No ETA yet, but it’s planned to be released as soon as possible.

The thrall fix got stuck in cert so we’re aiming to deploy the fix with the rest of the other fixes we’re working on as soon as we can.

There is a current issue regarding NPC and characters not playing certain sounds and our team is looking into it.
