There will definitely be content in Ashes of Creation designed with solo players in mind.
Regarding how efficient a Cleric or Tank player is in solo content will depend on how a player chooses to develop their character. We spoke a little bit about this during the July 2023 Development Update livestream. Here’s a timestamp to that conversation.

Also next thing i hope we see is this node system, i wanna see how we're gonna play the game. Like i understand we may not see a loop but i want to see how this quest system works with the nodes.
We haven't shared any specific Alpha Two testing dates yet. Stay tuned for more information on that!
We're planning to have more Node information to share soon during a future Development Update livestream. We try to do these streams on the last Friday of every month, although sometimes due to our schedules we move them.

If you don’t mind me asking, what have they done to prevent PvE from being nothing more than a gum ball machine for PVPers
Been repeatedly told that the game is not for me and to get out, so just curious.
In Ashes of Creation, we have the Corruption system to discourage griefing in PvP.
The goals of the Corruption system is to both keep risk alive for players, and also limit and discourage the ability for players to grief others. If this doesn't seem to be the case during testing, we'll continue to refine the Corruption system until it is better at accomplishing these goals.
