If it were only that easy for everyone :p If you dont have any friends who play osrs then TOB can be super inaccessible. At least with COX and TOA, you can go in solo and learn.

Make friends who play OSRS! It's an MMO, find a chill clan, ask some people in a Twitch chat or a random Discord, try We Do Raids, ask on the subreddit!

Perhaps sometimes easier said than done, but I've made so many lifelong friends in this community well-before I started at Jagex by just getting stuck in and putting myself out there.

Maybe a controversial take, I wish there were more group-only content. Feels like a little bit of what makes MMOs so special (to me, at least) gets lost in the mix from time-to-time

This blog felt a bit misleading, when you say "everything" I assumed something like the final blog, with new information including exact release date.

I understand not being able to commit yet, and saving stuff for us to discover after launch, but that is not everything we need to know, the post even says so when it says there's more stuff to be added

I think that's why quite a few people are complaining in the comments, thanks for the update though

The premise is that it'll serve as a one-stop-shop or culmination of info that we've released that we'll be updating as/when. So that if you're checking it a week or so before release it'll be a single page showing everything we've shared and you can be sure you've not missed anything tucked away in another blog or post from a little while ago.

I've left a few other comments concerning release date, but completely understand the frustrations people are having!

For what it's worth if you can do CoX you can literally do anything with enough practise.

Most PvM in OSRS at a 'floor' feels like a mental block when I have friends talk about how they can't do x, y or z. Everything in the game can at least be cleared without needing to lose 0 ticks or accurately prayer flick, just gotta spend some time sticking with it and letting what's happening sink in.

I promise you though that (before TOA release at least) getting 2 or 3 friends together and learning TOB as a group is some of the most fun you can have in OSRS and would highly recommend you give it a go!

The reason is understandable, but a large number of us would like to take time off work, or find child care, etc.

We're now a month out from mid-August. For many it's already at the time to request off. 1-2 weeks of notice isn't going to work for a lot of people.

Its comparatively a small thing in the long run, and obviously nothing is set in stone, but for the most hyped update in 4 years, it is an important thing for a lot of us.

The soonest we can know, even if it's a Thursday at 1 am, would be greatly appreciated.

I totally get it, I've taken time off of other roles before for WoW xpacs, Destiny xpacs, DLCs for other titles etc.

At the same time, it's not like we're doing it to be deliberately difficult. We want to be able to share a date that we're 100% certain we can deliver on. It'd be even worse if we released a date, people got time off of work and then we had to move it back or risk releasing something missing that last bit of polish.

It's important for us to get a date out as well and give as many people a heads-up to get stuck in as possible, and holding off on announcing the release date isn't a decision we take lightly or enjoy making. We just want to make sure it's right and not set an expectation we're not able to meet.

As soon as we're set on a date, we'll make a huge splash to make sure everybody knows and it shouldn't be too long to go.

They're being worked on by a different team to TOA, and that team is currently still acting on short-term feedback points for the PvP Arena.

Hoping you can expect to hear more on them soon, but providing a status update on one project doesn't mean there aren't multiple others ongoing, we're just not likely to put out a blog if we don't have enough to fill it with or if it's going to compete with other posts (i.e. we don't want readers to get fatigued and start engaging with our newsposts and providing us feedback less frequently).

How will this raid compare in difficulty to TOB and cox?

The hope is that at a base level (without invocations) TOA should feel in-line with CoX (in my opinion it's a little more accessible, but more engaging throughout vs. CoX rooms). With the invocation system, TOA should be able to scale to literally the hardest content in the game.

Always a little hard to tell without it being out in the world though, who knows what kind of things players will come up with that we've never even considered messing with in internal playtests!

We'll be announcing the release date soon, we just don't want to commit to a date and then be forced to either disappoint people or release something that's missing some finishing touches.

Apologies to have disappointed, hopefully we're able to give you something more concrete in the coming days!

Not sure if it's just for me, but the "competitions" link under "Contents" is nonfunctional.

Should be fixed now! Ruined my Friday by dropping an 's' in the href, typical.

Wording on the Partisan Jewels is repetitive, it says "All can only be used inside" then later on say "but this one can be used outside" twice.

Also those examples are the same we've been seeing forever, could use some new ideas isntead.

Have updated the wording a little to reduce redundancy!

But in a healthy system, shouldn't almost all the people skilling in the wilderness be planning to fight back? How is that "disproportionately empowering?"

That's not what I'm saying though! I'm trying to say that I feel there are better ways to incentivise people to anti- and to fight back beyond just flat-out buffing unskulled players, and worry that it's difficult to outright buff anti- in its current form without risking a disproportionate power level to people already anti-PKing.

I think content that encourages people to already bring brid/switches or freezes and keeps supplies high (i.e. content that already warrants people gearing up to fight back, and is worth doing even on the assumption that you'll have PKers get on you) are better and more organic ways to incentivise more people to fight back than just 'if no skull then stronger'.

You'll be able to read our apology after completing the long-awaited sequel 'Rag and Bone Man III' whose premise sees you gathering enough Rare Fossils to level a continent and then just putting them in the bin.

But if the reasoning for their trepidation boils down to "they might actually fight back," what's the point of humoring it?

I feel like this and some of the other replies misrepresent what I'm saying here. On the Q&A and in my response here, I spoke on anti-PKing already being super prevalent throughout the caves, and being a little bit anxious to risk disproportionately empowering those already anti-PKing with any change we might have made.

The other part of my response given that nobody seems to have mentioned at all is that we'd rather see content focused on wilderness interactions/mechanics specifically come from wilderness content, and the devs were keen to leave that design space open.
