Wrong update, that's the Doom of Mokhaiotl from Varlamore!

Post

Apparently you can put text on link posts now!

We've made a few small blog tweaks, popped some seriously sick concept art in for the newly-renamed Oathplate Armour, and opened the poll.

As always, you can vote in-game at any Poll Booth or by using the Polls section of the Community tab on your UI, poll closes on Monday, March 24th.

Apologies for the blog updates coming in so hot, we'd have liked to give more of a heads-up but I had some unexpected illness interfere with our perfectly-laid plans...

Hope you're as excited for Yama as we are, see you at the polls!

Chatted with the team on this, the arrow pointing at something suggests that the NPC is there, suspect that something in your cache means it's not appearing - would consider logging out, re-opening the app and logging back in again. If that still doesn't fix it, try refreshing the cache on your OSRS App!

Hello, it's the list guy back with another list. A lot of these things were talked about over half a year ago now or have been very popular amongst the community recently. I know sailing is taking up a lot of time recently but it feels like a lot of these could be added/fixed with minimal issue (besides the poll section ofc).

  • Feature: Adding the missing teleports to the POH

  • Feature: House on the Hill Shortcut

  • Bug: Ancient Sceptre healing %

  • Bug: Abyssal Bludgeon special attack is non-functional

  • Bug: Miscellania favour draining faster for some people since leagues (1.5% per day instead of 1%)

  • Bug: Quetzal whistle stacks all incoming damage during the teleport animation (You can die upon teleing if enough damage is done on you)

  • Bug: Buying Mixology rewards with a full inventory deletes the item, removes the points spent but gives you the c...

- Portal Nexus teleports: aiming to include in an upcoming QoL Poll (likely as an unpolled change, but just to put it in that 'bucket' of work) now that it's more technically simple to do than it was in the past
- House on the Hill Shortcut: same as above.

- Ancient Sceptre: I'm not sure why but I was certain we'd fixed this one, if you have more info for me to give the team a refresher then let me know.
- Abyssal Bludgeon: fixed next week.
- Miscellania Favour: Team's taken a look at this on numerous occasions and aren't able to reproduce the issue at all, it's inconsistent across players regardless of client usage and is proving tricky. It's still being investigated though in the hopes of understanding more. Would invite anybody who believes their Favour is draining faster than expected to reach out with an RSN in an effort to help track down what's happening here.
- Quetzal Whistle: Have raised with the team, imagine this is extremely niche b...

Correct, we wouldn't 4x Pest Control points unpolled, or ever probably.

Or go straight ahead and poll the leagues relic. People are okay with it for farming.

God forbid a master clue step takes over 1 minute

God forbid you've got an Agility level in the 90s and shave some time off of one specific step while engaging with one specific piece of content - feels suitably rewarding for having levelled a historically low skill imo!

Draken's castle step too please! Shortcut with the special rope would be perfect.

I'm pretty sure we've said that we're keen on this in the past, likely in a backlog somewhere waiting for a future poll - will see if I can get the team to pull it into Poll 84!

Currently you're able to over-charge them, and if you try to manually charge them any extra splinters over the true 20,000 limit are deleted. Is this just an oversight in the post, or something we'll need to be aware of until a later date? Related, if someone was dumb enough to delete say... 10,000 splinters is there any chance those would be refunded?

Will raise this with the team, looks as though it might have been an oversight. On the refund front, if you message me your RSN I might be able to get the Analytics team to take a look and see if we can identify similar cases, but can't make any guarantees!

Generally speaking downtime on non-Game Update days is associated with server-y stuff and not strictly related to the game content side of things, for the likes of the Sailing Alpha we tend to roll out some of the backend (typically Engine) stuff over the course of weeks before as 'under the hood' changes

I love the VLS and the javelins :(

Extremely slim outside of BH I'd imagine, given the baggage associated with them and missteps that we've made in the past with the likes of the VLS

You've fixed 6h nmz and 6h duke mining before. Do it again. The rules clearly states it's not allowed https://i.imgur.com/PxmKnr5.png

Engine team are actively working on a fix for this!

I know this probably won't get answered, but I know myreque is ending... (lets hope safalaan gets brainwashed...) when will the other stories end? (fairies, dwarf, pirate)

Unhelpful answer is just 'when we get around to it' unfortunately! Naturally wrapping up one storyline means more time to consider progressing others!

Another small suggestion, can we get a short-cut for the shadow dungeon masters clue step? the one where you have to run through the wholeeeeee dungeon, make it a high agility requirement like dragons eye step? thanks!

Happy to add this to our list!

The team that usually works on them is finishing up Poll 83 stuff for the time being, appreciate that it's not an ideal update but can only work with what we've got. On the plus side, Sailing Alpha is coming very soon and Yama will drop sooner than many people expect!

We're maintaining a quieter release schedule to prepare for the Sailing Alpha, all of this work was done in a Game Jam so felt like a decent candidate to avoid anything impacting main game too heavily ahead of the alpha.

Not likely to balloon population, but might go some way to making it a little more appealing to more folks!

Slightly worried that the meta for ToB speeds etc will become waiting 5 mins outside each room for your Adren pot CD. Idk if it would be better if it just didn't cool down between rooms (similar to spec in Colo) or whether room completion should reset it (which sounds quite busted). Have you thought about this at all?

Something I'll add to the blog tomorrow but I imagine those cooldowns should reset on using a pool or a room reset etc., could be wrong but anywhere that an Imbued Heart resets would likely also reset Surge pot CD.

Why dont people like toa invo? I feel the opposit, damn love the invocation mechanics wished all raids had that, best god damn thing. What is the cons people raise about them?

In general it's a feeling that individual invocations (short of some highlights like Insanity) don't really do all of that much and that higher Raid Levels are mostly tougher because of higher enemy Defence/HP/damage dealt rather than fundamentally more challenging fights.
