An update was released for Mac that brought them up to v313, so this issue has been resolved.

To note Jat this was all possible on PS4, and filmed a day prior. Perhaps console haven't received a patch yet?
The fixed aspects of this aren't on console yet but will be when we patch the client next, however there are some things we've still to tackle so I appreciate the report :)

Would it be possible to add an admin command to be able to build in the sky? Or would that be a bad addition?
If we were to do it, a server config would probably be more appropriate if one does not exist already (we've an extensive list so I can't remember em all). Though not sure if we'd do something like this.

About to find out 🙃. So far looks like our recent PC changes has made this less effective. We'll keep playing around with it but so far the early indication looks like you won't be able to get foundation support to build out something that truly floats (or anything more than pillars/fence supports -- which if one piece demos, everything would collapse except what has support).
Will keep investigating tho.
Edit: Yep some of this has been fixed, but not all of it 😢

I think Epic runs their own servers so if you got Ark through their store them going down affects you, but idk for sure I got it on steam.
This is the general idea. Players using EGS have to be authorised by their backend to connect to our/other ARK servers. It's like when Steam is down and you're not able to play certain games because you're not able to be authed, or if Xbox Live is down, etc.
Silverlining is that this one seems to be intermittent so there's a chance to get on and usually things like this can affect many titles & systems, so it's usually a priority to get investigated and resolved as soon as possible.
We've also been able to identify some new crashes caused by this so we're fixing those up right now.
It looks like Epic are having some authentification issues at the moment which reasonably could prevent you from being able to join online servers. Here's a link to their status page:
A temporary work around for now is to continue relaunching and closing the application, sometimes the auth does succeed and you should be able to see the button, hopefully they'll be able to resolve their issue soon.
Edit: Looks like their servers are back online as of 2 hours ago so hopefully you guys are able to see the Join button right away now :)

If updating windows didn't resolve the issue for you, you can try this which has worked for others:
There was a bug that came in when we introduced our breeding performance changes that would have caused this in some cases. It was fixed, but the fix was subsequently lost during the weekend of the Summer Bash launch on console when we were dealing with all those technical issues. We reintroduced the relevant fixes on the 1st of July with a serverside patch, so it should be good going forward now, just won't be retroactive. Unofficial servers should make sure they're using .18 for both PS4 + Xbox to avoid this problem.
