Getting through cert on a Sunday... 2020 is definitely the wildest of years. Hang in there PS4 folks, hope to have some good news to share with ya soon :)
Console Survivors, Xbox: v800.18 has passed certification and has been pushed live. Please restart your applications/consoles to download the patch. This should resolve crashes that were introduced with the release of the Summer Bash event. PS4: The fix is currently in cert.
@slimberland Waiting for the 3000 series to come out
@Hannah86577355 The tweet you've responded to has a second which says we'll be extending the event
@AlexLee856 @JordanParent988 Cert requires going through another platform (i.e consoles) and those teams/departments don't approve builds over the weekend, probably due to giving folks the time off, staff shortages, focusing on other things -- not sure precisely but it's basically Mon-Fri.
@NotDollie: Apologies, guys. Thank you for hanging in there. To reiterate, we'll be extending the event as a gesture towards the communi…
Time for my workstation to get some much needed TLC 😁.
@SturgessFamily: @NotDollie Thank you for your constant battling to the root of the problem, you can take that gif as yourself, you true…
@dominic_plumlee It'll be increased, don't know by how much specifically but certainly more than the days lost
@JordanParent988 Cert doesn't usually take place over the weekend which is why it'll have to wait until next week at the earliest
@Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Thanks for the key info Nic :)
Fortunately this was just a binary change so the Xbox patch won't be too large (PS4 will be larger due to the core corruption). We've also released an updated binary on PC Steam which fixes the issue (and will soon release a binary fix on EGS also).
We've identified the crash on consoles and have verified a fix. Unfortunately due to it being a weekend, the earliest we are able to get the update through platform certification will be Monday morning. https://t.co/rzRMYQaoFn
@Olde8675309 @tazman1983 Two different issues, introduced in this patch, both caused problems but unrelated to one another. We fixed one with .14 but not the other as it wasn't identified until after .14 went live.
@Acid_legend @mjay252 @tazman1983 That would be the earliest possible time, but not the 'confirmed' time. Just that these client fixes wouldn't roll out over the weekend.
@Foxset2 @survivetheark Did this happen after the Summer Bash event?
@mjay252 @tazman1983 I believe that's the case unfortunately but I typically am not involved in that process -- though I can't recall us ever patching the client over the weekend for xb.
@iMosa94 Appearance should be fixed in the patch that's currently live so client v800.14 and server v800.111
@tazman1983 It fixed the corruption, but the crashes we're seeing now seem to be related to something else, though we're iterating on a possible fix now, hopefully this is it and we can prep for submission.
@Slushgodd Nah you're fine, the latest server fixes the corruption aspect, the roll back was just to deal with the loss.
@hcuevas20688 @Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark v800.14 is live but we're further iterating and will likely have another patch we have to push through cert
@kibracamonte35 @NotDollie @SunShineMariah @ComplexMinded The client crashing seems to be caused by a different issue we're investigating now, unrelated to the other problems that were resolved yesterday. The rollback is to restore things lost by the corrupt file that went out w/ the initial patch.
