@GamerPerfection @joshtho35203671 Also I feel pretty strongly about not giving ETAs :P, you can be assured that it's a priority for us and we're working on getting it resolved asap. Once we feel confident to share a timeline, you'll hear about it from an official source.
@Mdoyle2002 Nah, anything that would cause an incompatibility we would typically lock that into a major version update (so going from v800 to v801 (client incompatible), increases the whole number and is a major version patch), whereas 800.1 to 800.2 is a minor (client compatible).
@SunShineMariah @NotDollie @ComplexMinded The rollback is to restore the creatures/items that were lost due to the missing core file, but no it shouldn't cause incompatibilities going forward.
@Mdoyle2002 Aye that's fine, clients are different to servers, what's important is that the 'whole' number matches (in front of the decimal point)
We have noticed some things that look fishy so hopefully getting closer to the root, appreciate all the reports everyone. We'll get to the bottom of it.
We see players reporting crashes on Xbox post-client patch. We're continuing to investigate.
@hcuevas20688 @Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Nah that's not it, it's okay for client and servers to have different numbers after the decimal points, what's important is the whole number, so in this case v800 -- and furthermore v800.14 has our latest set of fixes.
@Olde8675309 @Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Nah that's not it, it's okay for client and servers to have different numbers after the decimal points, what's important is the whole number, so in this case v800 -- and furthermore v800.14 has our latest set of fixes.
@Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark You're okay, we'll have to take it from here to see if we can identify. I have some info to work from and a few hunches so I'll be working on investigating with the engineers. Appreciate the info Nic.
@Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Where is your base that you're crashing at? I'll investigate it shortly.
@Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark What server do you play on?
@Starphaux @BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Interesting, are you using an Xbox One X or the standard Xbox?
@BraunbeckBryan @ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Interesting, and this is after downloading the 21gb update, right? We'll continue to investigate. Once the other players have these latest fixes, the logs we receive about crashes should be more specific to help identify if there are further issues caused by the latest changes.
@ScorpioXBX703 @survivetheark Did you experience these crashes after updating your client to v800.14?
@JimBoonie_ @Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Will follow up, but not too sure. Got a lot to cover with Gen P2 and getting C.I shipped on consoles, this sounds like it'd be a huge undertaking for us at the mo so I don't expect so.
@Derrick88951283 @survivetheark Play Anywhere has been active for some years already, but if you mean do we have another Win10 patch in the pipeline, aye we do. It has passed, just waiting for it to push through the systems and be ready to download.
@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Ah yes, good point. Then right now no such server config exists, essentially an egg replacement. It's worth a discussion with the team for sure. Always open to giving players more customisation, just a matter of balancing with other priorities etc.
@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark Happy to do so, not as active as I used to be on social media compared to a few years ago but occasionally I'll chime in when necessary :)
@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Unfortunately not using a Win10 server. You could use a server hosted by a 3rd party and try changing spawn configs (NPC replacement/adjustments). This wouldn't add nests to the map, but could make those creatures spawn in.
@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark If it's the number after the decimal, it's a minor version update and not mandatory, though sometimes we'll have our host-partners update due to the severity of the issues that are being resolved.
@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark Usually only network incompatibility issues would prevent you from connecting, and we typically tie those to 'major' versions, so that's when the number before the decimal point increases. EG Summer Bash was major v800, increased from v799.
