@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark It's a 'minor' client patch, so you'll still be able to connect to servers without it, however I think it's set to force-update anyhow due to the problems it resolves. We've also recommended all our console hosts make sure they're on the latest version possible.
@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark Mmm perhaps you were dealing with a different issue altogether, but we can confirm that the initial version of XB/Win10 that went out with Summer Bash would have been busted so the hotfix is a must
@Rpurser311 @CloseToInSaNe @survivetheark It's possible you've somehow avoided the things that would have caused problems i.e if you play on TheIsland or another non-expansion/paid-DLC map. However there will definitely be a fixed version of Win10 going out soon.
@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark Hopefully it does not take as long as it did yesterday...
@CloseToInSaNe @Rpurser311 @survivetheark Correct, the one that went out some hours ago, however there is another one in the pipeline which has passed certification and does contain the relevant client fixes, we're just waiting for it to be pushed through the system so folks can download it.
@Large28X @Cosmic_Cap @a_cervera01 @survivetheark Aye, plus with a lot of folks staying inside due to social distancing, all platforms across PC and all the other consoles are seeing higher usage than general, and it's a Friday night. Hopefully it picks up for ya guys soon.
@kibracamonte35 @survivetheark Aye, before the event started, so for us that was around 1:30 PM PDT.
@cornell_connor @survivetheark Not adverse to hiring remote, depends on the role/candidate.
@jade6984_ @VerboseVagrant @_Th1bs_ @RhinoTrixx @KVapnik @survivetheark They must have faster internet than we do.
@kibracamonte35 @survivetheark If you had loaded up your save file on the previous server build (the one we launched with), then aye, we'd recommend a rollback. This patch is to help resolve the client issues we're seeing (crashes, invisible creatures, weird anims/poses, etc).
@badboybigelow @survivetheark Client patch that's incoming should make a diff to that, don't have a precise time for it other than as soon as possible, it's going through cert.
@Allen_FLOW24 Also this was set to release yesterday, was just stuck for some reason
@Allen_FLOW24 Players need the latest major version to be able to log onto the current servers, the next update in the pipeline is a minor version update to fix up the files
@synfulangel7 @ComplexMinded Hosts should update to the latest version () before doing a rollback
@xXEliteCaraXx @survivetheark We're able to do server updates w/o client ones. Client patch is still going through cert at the moment, but we rolled out the server one to restore the lost dinos. Client patch is required for the 'full' fix though.
@synfulangel7 @ComplexMinded Host would have to do the rollback on unofficial servers, but the client patch would make a difference in terms of stability, visual issues, and other things.
@EdosM8 @NotDollie @survivetheark Client update has not been released yet, it needs to get through cert first, that'll give us a better idea of where we're at with the crashes (it's likely the culprit for most we're seeing)
@Tammyj1990 We had advised folks not to log into SP if they hadn't already to prevent causing harm to their saves (i.e deletion of aberration creatures).
@Tammyj1990 If you haven't loaded, it's best to wait until the upcoming client patch. If you've already loaded single player since the event started, then the losses would have already happened and you could continue playing
Windows 10 version should be available now, make sure you've hit that 'Get Updates' button in the Windows Store app. Note that this is this patch does not have the upcoming client fix (though we're aiming to get that released asap on Win 10 too).
