Today we announced that we’re rolling out a leveling system for Followers alongside the Mounts update. On the same date we’re also introducing a mechanic to limit the amount of Followers each player/clan is allowed to have.
We’ll be talking about these additions on stream on Thursday (5pm CET / 11am EST / 8am PST).

As you know, we’re working on adding mounts to Conan Exiles. You may also know that we’re adding mounted combat, so you can crush your enemies and drive them before you using weapons from horseback.
What you may not know is that we’re also adding a leveling system for Pets and Thralls (collectively called Followers going forward). Please note, this is only for Thralls and Pets you can place out in the world and have follow you, not crafting thralls.
The upcoming leveling system allows you to to level your followers through combat in the same fashion that you do as a player. Leveling a Follower grants them stat-points that are automatically distributed through a weighted system (see below), and these stats grant various bonuses such as improved health, improved damage, and so forth.

I talked it over with the CE team’s lead designer and lead coder and it was decided that we’re implementing a solution for scavenging:
Thralls won’t be able to mount up and ride, unfortunately. Mounts will only be available for players.

One of the most sought-after features in The Exiled Lands is soon to become a reality. This December mounts will arrive in Conan Exiles, and along with it, mounted combat. Here’s the first teaser video!
Mounts will allow you to navigate the Exiled Lands at a more rapid pace than before, but that’s not all: we’re also rolling out mounted combat, letting you swing your sword at your enemies from horseback!
