We recently deployed a hotfix to the game that should provide a significant performance optimization to unit aura processing.

The UNIT_AURA event now has two new payloads:
isFullUpdate – a boolean indicating that the consumer should do a full update on their data

updatedAuras – a vector of information about the auras that changed.

The intent of these changes is to provide more information so that consumers can “early-out” of the update without needing to do a full iteration over all auras for a unit.

This should not break any existing addons, but we strongly recommended that addon authors who register for the UNIT_AURA event make use of this new information while processing auras.

A new helper function, AuraUtil.ShouldSkipAuraUpdate(), has been added to AuraUtil.lua to facilitate this. To use it, forward in the new event payloads as well as a ...

This is the latter. You can select Attendant’s Tokens of Merit if you choose to not select one of the other items offered.

We did indeed have a recent bug that reduced the amount of bonus Honor received per round won in Solo Shuffle.

We’ve created a hotfix for it, and expect that hotfix to be applied to the game soon.

Don’t forget-- your first Solo Shuffle win of the day grants twice as much Honor as subsequent wins that day.

With scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, we intend to make the following changes to certain rewards provided by the Great Vault.

Great Vault

• The Attendant’s Token of Merit has been updated.
  • You may now carry 12 tokens (was 3).
  • You will now receive 2 tokens if you unlocked one Great Vault segment.
  • You will now receive 4 tokens if you unlocked two Great Vault segments.
  • You will now receive 6 tokens if you unlocked three or more segments of your Great Vault.
• Ko’tul in Oribos now offers many new items.
  • Ephemera-Infused Mesh – Add a socket to a Shadowlands Season 3 helmet, necklace, bracer, belt, or ring that does not already have a socket. Costs 6 Attendant’s Token of Merit.
  • Overflowing Chest of Riches – Rewards an average of 3,000 gold. Costs 3 Attendant’s Token of Merit.

We’ve seen how many players are having a hard time finding groups for Castle Nathria to obtain the Legendaries from that raid.

With a hotfix that we’re implementing soon today, we’re going to provide an option for returning players and alts to get these Memories through gameplay other than the Castle Nathria raid itself.

• Legendary Memories that were previously obtainable only from Castle Nathria can now also be purchased from Rendle, who now appears in both Castle Nathria and in Haven.

Rendle will sell the Castle Nathria Memories for the same currencies that you can currently use to buy the random legendary item Chronicle of Lost Memories (Grateful Offerings, Catalogued Research, or Soul Cinders), and also for Cosmic Flux. At the same time, the Chronicle of Lost Memories will not become available for Cosmic Flux, as we want to make sure players keep enough of that currency to begin upgrading their legendaries in Eternity’s End, and remain able to us...

With scheduled weekly maintenance next week, we’re planning to make some adjustments to specs that are overperforming in PvP.

• Mage
  • Tempest Barrier’s (Conduit) absorb value reduced by 50% in PvP combat.
  • Fire
    • Flamecannon’s (PVP Talent) buff duration reduced to 3 seconds (was 5 seconds).
    • Pyrokinesis (PVP Talent) now causes Fireball to reduce the cooldown of Combustion by 2 seconds (was 3 seconds).
    • Tinder (PVP Talent) now reduces the cast time of your next Fireball by 30% (was 50%).

In Season 3, Fire Mages have been overperforming across all skill brackets in rated PvP, and we will be reducing the power of commonly picked talents to better fit within other spec representation and performance.

Thank you for all of your feedback on the recent Fury tuning changes.

Our goal with this round of changes is to curb a bit of the feedback loop created with the synergies from the new tier bonuses, double legendaries, and conduits available, especially for Necrolord. However, with these changes it’s important that we make sure Necrolord Fury still feels like a competitive choice compared to the other Covenant options.

After doing some further review, we’re updating the Glory legendary change from 30 Rage per Conqueror’s Banner extension to 25 Rage.

Given Necrolord’s ability to increase others’ throughput as well as their own, we feel like this should strike a balance between their personal output and their group buff potential.

As we previously noted, we’re working to remove rewards and kill credits from players who were actioned for having their account piloted in the Mage Tower.

There are, however, some players who will return from their suspension today before we’ve completed that effort.

We expect to complete the removals for all suspended accounts during scheduled weekly maintenance tomorrow.

We’ve worked through the following adjustments to Balance and Feral Druids, which we intend to make live with scheduled weekly maintenance on Tuesday, March 8 in this region.

Druid

• Balance
  • (2) Set Bonus: Entering a Lunar Eclipse now creates a Fury of Elune at 20% effectiveness (was 25% effectiveness).
  • (4) Set Bonus: While in an Eclipse, the cost of Starsurge and Starfall is reduced by 15% (was 20%).

The synergy of the Balance tier set with some of Balance’s options made it perform a bit higher than intended. We want to bring Balance in-line with other tier set bonuses while still rewarding those synergistic choices. These changes should keep the power of Balance’s tier set bonus, but rein in some of the higher outputs we’ve seen.*

  • Storm Elemental’s Wind Gust effect gained from casting Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning now has a maximum stack of 10 (was 20). Additionally, if you cast Storm Elemental again while having a Storm Elemental active, the Wind Gust buff will be reset.

The ability to maintain Storm Elemental at long duration and high uptime allows for extended periods of Lightning Bolts with a cast time of less than 0.6 seconds. Players have reported that this is uncomfortable to play, and we believe it might pose a significant accessibility concern. The Burning Crusade Classic version 2.5.4 Public Test Realm (PTR) is now open for testing. Players may copy their character to the PTR or create a template character.

• The Zul’Aman 10-player raid is now available for testing.
  • Please see Nexus Lord Donjon Rade Jr. in the center of Shattrath while in a raid group to be ported to the Zul’Aman raid dungeon.
• Patch 2.5.4 contains an update to how data is exchanged between the client and server. This update should be completely invisible, but we would encourage players to utilize the in-game bug reporter (default hotkey: F6) to report any issues or irregularities that you might encounter, particularly regarding player stats, spells, abilities, items, looting, inventory, or any issues encountered during combat.
