Read moreI’ve struck the words “and equip” from this note:
You don’t need to retain rating to equip an item, rating is only required to purchase it.
I’ve also added the following PvP notes:
Later this morning, we’re enabling rated Arena testing in the Burning Crusade Beta. Please leave your feedback on it in the dedicated feedback thread after you’ve tested it.
We’re also enabling world bosses. Please note that once Kazzak and Doomwalker are killed in the Beta, they will respawn on their natural random timers, and should not be expected to respawn at the same time later in the week.
Player versus Player
To bring about better matchmaking in Burning Crusade Classic, we’re updating the Matchmaking Rating (MMR) system to use a calculation design developed after original Burning Crusade, with an MMR range that will be similar to the range seen in PvP in 2008.
A major goal we have in Burning Crusade Classic PvP is to provide consistency as we step forward through each Season and phase of content. We believe this will promote a healthier PvP environment that emphasizes the prestige players can feel when obtaining shoulders and weapons in pa...

We’re all fixed up.
Tomorrow (April 30), please join us in resuming testing of Karazhan in Burning Crusade Classic, starting at 12:00 Noon PDT (3:00 p.m. EDT).
Over the first few weeks of testing in the Burning Crusade Beta, we’ve found it useful to elaborate on and bolster the “some changes” philosophy that we expressed at BlizzConline (and in posts like this one). As we’ve said, we’re open to making further alterations to Burning Crusade Classic, and we’re guided by the goal of authenticity in how the game plays, especially given how players in 2021 approach a game that was designed in 2007.
We’ve decided make the following updates to Burning Crusade Classic:
Due to unforeseen technical difficulties, we have to cancel this test.
We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve fixed the problem, and we’ll schedule this test again in the coming days.
Thank you!
On the Badge of Justice Beta realm, we’ve updated character templates in the latest build.
Specifically, we’ve fixed some gear inconsistencies, brought template characters up to max reputations, and added things like multiple max-level pets for hunters.
Please create a new test character to test with these changes.
Thank you!
Tomorrow, please join us in resuming testing of Karazhan in Burning Crusade Classic, starting at 12:00 Noon PDT (3:00 p.m. EDT).
Testing will take place on the Badge of Justice Beta realm, and Kara will be open for at least a few days. The Badge of Justice Beta realm has level 70 template characters enabled, as well as consumables and professions vendors in Shattrath.
As always, please use the in-game bug reporter (default hotkey: F6) if you come across any bugs, and look here in this forum for dedicated feedback threads once the test gets underway.
We’ll see you there!
We believe this has just been fixed.
In order to prepare our systems which will handle snapshotting WoW Classic player-characters and preparing them to be separately playable on Burning Crusade Classic and WoW Classic Era realms, we will close the character transfer service in WoW Classic on April 30 at 10:00 a.m. PDT in this region.
We expect character transfers to be closed for multiple weeks, and we will let you know as soon as we can determine this process is nearly complete and we expect to re-open the service. For the duration of the closure, it will not be possible to transfer a WoW Classic player-character to or from any realm.
The actual snapshotting of all WoW Classic characters will occur after this closure. We will also announce that time at a later date.
The character transfer service closure in WoW Classic will have no impact whatsoever on the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands digital shop or services.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we perform this update.
With today’s patch, in addition to gameplay updates and bugfixes, you’ll now see an informational window on the character selection screen.
The new window contains some general information on what’s coming, and it can be hidden and revealed by clicking the circular Burning Crusade Classic button on the same screen. This is not the point at which you’ll choose between the two games (Burning Crusade Classic and WoW Classic Era). That decision will become accessibl...

Speak to Donjon in Shattrath to be sent to Orgrimmar or Stormwind, where you’ll find “King” Dond offering gear suitable for PvP.
With scheduled weekly maintenance, WoW Classic will be updated to Patch 1.13.7.

Raid testing in the Burning Crusade Classic Beta is now underway, and we’ve received many answerable inquiries on every aspect of the game. What follows is an outline of the answers to many common questions about the Beta, which we will update as necessary over the coming weeks.
Attunements
Thanks to everyone who came out and tested Karazhan with us, especially those who took the time to submit feedback and in-game bug reports.
There were indeed a number of bugs that we’re working through. In particular, we’ve identified several areas where our intended first phase encounter settings weren’t being applied properly in the Beta.
Again, thank you very much!
