And we’re back up on both servers! Thanks for your patience and have fun!
Greetings Adventurers,
Thanks for joining us in the PTR! We are aware that there are some issues with the tutorial and are restarting the servers. Keep an eye out on this thread for when it’s back up.
The below list is a collection of new, high-priority issues that the development team is aware of. This list is not all encompassing, and can vary from game-build to game-build due to ongoing active development and bug-fixing.
Please be aware that this is a very large feature which is still in development; there will be placeholder text and unintended bugs. These are some of the more noteworthy known bugs and polish items that are not yet resolved within the PTR build but should be fixed fairly soon.
Thanks for your feedback! I know some players have suggested similar ideas and the team is continuing to work on it. You can find some of the team’s thoughts here: [Dev Blog] Group Finder
For future reference, all PTR-specific information can be found in this category: Public Test Realm - New World Forums
All the info is in the PTR category. Worlds open at 10am PT tomorrow.
It’s back up
Greetings Adventurers,
If you encounter a bug while playtesting the PTR, please post it here in this thread using the template below so we can get as much information possible to provide to the team:
We thank you for helping us improve New World and for helping us keep this thread focused solely on the bugs and exploits you are experiencing in the PTR!
Greetings Adventurers,
Think you know Aeternum? When have you last visited Monarch’s Bluffs or Everfall? Have you heard of the Legacy of King Arthur? Well, time moves a little funny when death doesn’t quite bother you as it used to… or maybe it’s just that kids have it nicer now-a-days, no longer needing to run up and down hills to talk to your old man Yonas…

We’ve completely redesigned the early levels of New World , so players who start the game or roll a new character will experience brand new stories and quests. Player feedback on quest variety, AI variety, more streamlined questlines with less running back and forth, and improved storytelling in those early stages of the game helped bring about the following changes:
- Quest flow through zones has been optimized, with NPCs who move around, and a central story thread that takes players through each region of the game, unlocking si...
Greetings Adventurers,
Have you ever dreamed of taking life by both hands? Has someone ever told you that you miss the swings you never take? Well, with this PTR release we’re introducing a new weapon: the mighty two-handed Greatsword!
Greatsword Weapon
Get ready for a new weapon — the Greatsword. This two-handed blade utilizes stances to adapt to different situations. Learn the risks and rewards of each option to survive in battle. Both Weapon Skill Trees feature versatile tactics for varied playstyles:
- The Onslaught tree embodies relentless offense and focuses on defeating enemies before they can take you out.
- The Defiance tree excels at aggressive defense that can survive and deal damage against multiple opponents.
The Greatsword scales evenly with Strength and Dexterity, making it a good pair for many other martial weapons.
Please let us k...
