Mmmhmm - if we're ever doing another TT update... This is going in.
Mmmhmm - if we're ever doing another TT update... This is going in.
If they coded it where at certain intervals the companion's gear would update, that would be amazing.
Also Temple Trekking update when?
I have a WIP design that took the structure of temple trekking but with character companion customization (and level up). However, instead of the player doing all the fighting and the NPC's being useless... The player could only play as a healer who had to support their group of adventurers and use skilling to clear the path and make food/potions. The idea was to be a Farming/Herblore/Cooking activity.
I stopped work on it though as I'm not convinced we can actually do that level of NPC customization without some heavy engine support (I think). Also, if we are to do anything - as you said - we should probably update Temple Trekking to not be so bad/inconsistent.
Would love to have that as the ingame map.
Also what is the icon at the top, left of attack in the circle of skills?
It looks a lot more like a tree when it has the correct colours 😳 Unsure why I made them all the same colour tbh...

I think your designs are good, ignore him buddy
Cheers! I understand I'm never going to please everyone but I'm always happy to take on feedback and apply it to my work. Comments like the one by AutoDog just come off as spiteful at the end of the day and I find it funny that that's how they spend their time. To each their own, I suppose.

Read moreYeah that's what I was referring to, I just didn't word my comment very well. I just dont see the upside to not polling the fremmy boots as well. You're already going to be polling the dragon boots/bandos boots so it's not like you're creating a whole poll just for 1 pair of boots that you think will pass anyway.
Again, I wouldn't be surprised if it passed either, but I think a lot of the complaints you guys get could be mitigated by just polling instead of avoiding a poll because you think itll pass. Take the elven chatheads, for example. The team liked the look and put them in game because they believed it was an improvement, but many in the community disagreed. If they would've just been polled beforehand people could've just said yes or no and we both would've avoided having to read complaints about it for weeks. I think the key takeaway from all that is that a lot of problems would be avoided by just polling things that aren't game integrity issues instead of saying "e...
We'd likely save it for when we have the opportunity to poll it with other things - as you said - we're unlikely to have a poll with a single question :P
I don't think this situation is comparable to the elven chathead situation as the fremmy boots have already been changed in the past and most were still not pleased with those changes. Although - as I previously said - it would make sense to poll the dboots/bandos boots regardless of my belief in it passing.
I feel so bad for the mods after reading that cesspool of twitter comments. How much of a low life can you be getting upset at changing the angle of boots in your inventory
TBF, I was totally expecting the backlash on the dragon boots/bandos boots as twitter is generally a lot more against change than any other platform. A little bit of 'controversy' is great for exposure and generating discussion. I was also genuinely curious how players would respond given the blatant hypocrisy of wanting one set of boots to look like boots while the others are protected by a blanket of nostalgia. Consistently inconsistent is my motto, so I suppose it works :P
Honestly, I have no problem with the look of the updated boots. I'm not sure that they're necessary, but I wouldn't mind if they were added in. What I am a little worried about is u/Mod_West 's replies saying that he doesnt think he should poll these changes. I thought unpolled changes were supposed to be reserved for integrity issues, not graphical updates. This is why we end up with dumb and unnecessary shitstorms over updated chatheads.
Not quite what I said. I was referring to the Fremmy boots being changed unpolled as they are frequently complained about not looking like boots within the inventory and have already gone through a few changes :P
As for the pre-exsiting boots (dragon/bandos), it would be safer to poll those and I can imagine it passing based on the responses I got on twitter.
So when are you hiring u/Volcaban ?
We're not hiring any artists atm, but when we are they're welcome to apply (:
OP also made a drawing with the player as a comparison.
Ah, I'd already seen that! Silly me :P
Could be sweet! Mod west pls reply with whats happening with your spellbook rework! i saw you like my tweet!
We'll likely use it as a reward from a future Kourend quest although many of the spells are unlikely to pass in their current state so it would need some revising first.
This is great! I imagine that this is quite a bit larger than a standard horror? Perhaps the mask it drops could be a shield...
I so want you to turn out to be an undercover J-mod and this to be a stealth teaser for Raids 3...
🤔
Hey, /u/Mod_West !
My last image was too large for Reddit, so I had to break it down into smaller concept images and add it to an imgur album. I made some changes to this previous idea I had. I am mostly concerned with your opinion regarding Hunter Marks, the Trapper's Chest, and Rare Beast Encounters--three new features that give incentive to train the Hunter Skill.
If you have a minute, please give it a read!
This is great! We haven't officially started work on Varlamore ( we have other projects we want to get to first) but I'll certainly keep this post saved for when we get properly into it (: There's some great ideas here that will certainly be viable for a guild! Great job putting this all together.
Read moreI didn't interpret your response as flaming honestly, and it's not much of a discussion if everyone else gets to give their opinions and you don't get to give yours. People misuse the downvote button all the time on here. I'd prefer the developers to share their thought process so thanks for speaking with the community directly.
If it's worth anything to you, I have some feedback on the armour design and if you disagree, please feel free to let me know.
For an oldschool runescape item, it does feel like there's a lot going on. I think what made things like the bandos armour so great is it was a simple, strong idea. A single shoulderpad with spikes on, and a sort of shirt attached. it was quite a striking design because it didn't rely on much to work. This armour looks lovely, looks very functional, and shows off your skill! but it also feels like it could exist without the dragon stones and still be very detailed for an oldschool set of armour. I think beyon...
Thanks for the detailed feedback! That’s fantastic, I’ve made a few adjustments already, but I really like what you’ve done with the shoulders. I can definitely incorporate that into it tomorrow. I’ve made the gems a lot smaller overall but there’s only so far until they disappear completely. I’ve also removed a lot of the detail on the helm like yours has and plan to further shape the eye slots to be more like yours. I think the current shape of that part is what’s causing the helm to look like... something else.
Thanks again, great feedback :D

Sorry, I misread what you put about flaming. I didn’t right the guy off, we’re in contact via DM and he’s giving me feedback on a revised version of the armour. I’m sorry if I came off as defensive, refuting anything is bound to be seen in that way. I just wanted to understand something, and he gave a great explanation and I’m grateful for that.
I hate to be a backseat designer, but I thought I'd just have a quick go at it. And here's a comparison gif.
Interesting! I like what you’ve done with the helmet and arms, I’ll try incorporate that into the reworked armour tomorrow :)

Am I not allowed an opinion? Can I not stand up for myself without being accused of flaming? If you feel I shouldn’t, that’s fair, but that’s hardly a discussion I want part in.
I wasn’t whining about being downvoted, just confused with what I said that was so wrong - turns out it’s just a disagree button which really doesn’t make for a healthy discussion.
Thank you for your compliments on the Hosidius rework - it’s only to that quality because I actively seek out feedback on social platforms. That’s what I’m doing here, just because I may disagree with some feedback - which I am allowed to do - doesn’t mean that I’m going to straight up ignore it.
I just want to solve the problem some are having with the new armour and that’s only possible via discussion.
