A bug where smokescreens would not hide the markers of other vehicles in arcade ground battles has been fixed.


A bug, where the preview of any vehicle would in some cases be available in any hangar, has been fixed.

A bug has been fixed that didn’t allow a refresh to the limit of the Special battle tasks after completing a medium Battle task without re-entering the game.

We'd like to improve the armor model, but this is complicated on various aspects: technical, gameplay and players.


-Technical, the more realistic we move into armor / damage simulation, the more complicated it gets to create (and to understand). Real physics often have a hefty performance impact too. We can sure "cheat" and dumb down some aspects, but it's still really complicated.


-Gameplay for the effects it would have. Armor wearing off could radically change the game.


-Players, as they have to understand and overall, agree on what is happening when a shell hit a tank. And this should not conflict with most players vision of realism, for example, we (players) overlook the tracks repair time of a Tiger H1, but want the armor to be accurate to the millimeter - and we need to keep that in mind, players who like realism don't like all the realism

Sure! Hull breach was created to solve a problem, some vehicles were unrealistically hard to kill and would eat shots after shots, that good old "no armor best armor". It did a good job on that regard, but as the game evolved, limitation started to show. Lots of players reported issues with hull break and the developers agree with the feedback. We still think the concept of hull break is good, but it need to be refined.


The team is working on an improved hull break, and deactivated part of the current system on a number of vehicles against kinetic shells to tone down the negative effects in the meantime.

A bug which would occur when a destroyed, turretless ground vehicle was fired upon, whereby the shell would disappear in the area the turret used to be despite nothing being there, has been fixed.


A bug where smokescreens would not hide the markers of other vehicles during ground battles has been fixed.


Browning-Colt Mk12 Mod 0 / Mod 3 — All types of belts now have the tracer round as the first munition.


Vickers P — The rate at which the cannon overheats, and the spread of the ammunition, have been reduced.

Flight model



I-185 (all series) — air stream swirl around stabilizers has been specified. The cable control on the ailerons and elevators has been replaced with tubular (more accurate) rods. Wave drag resistance increased due to the thinner profile. Stalling angles have been improved with flaps retracted due to wider wing slats. Engine inertia and momentum have been reduced. Landing roll without brakes has been specified (reduced).

A bug has been fixed with missing sound and visual effects of hits on the destruction of the player’s ground vehicle.


A bug has been fixed with missing sound and visual effects of hits on enemy/allied vehicle hits on enemy/allied ground vehicles.


A bug that would cause a bomb flight sound to play for listeners on the ground immediately after a drop, regardless of the drop height.. Now bombs start to sound at distances of about 500 meters.


Engine over-throttle sounds on ground vehicles have become shorter. They are quieter on vehicle stop, and louder, when the vehicle starts moving.


Diesel engines on Leopard 2, Leclerc, T-90A, Type 90, T-64, now have a turbocharger whistling sound. The turbocharger layer has also been added to the over-throttle sounds.

In the War Thunder “New Power” update, we are dividing warships from all playable nations into two separate tech trees with traditional vertical research - blue-water(larger ships) and coastal fleets(smaller vessels). Torpedo boats, gunboats, and frigates will be upgraded in their own tree, while enthusiasts of larger ship classes will be able to start research immediately from reserve destroyers to heavier ship classes. In this case, ships of all classes will still meet together in battles, the ships you have already researched will not need to be researched again, and the crews will be able to master any types of ships without restrictions.
