Sublimation[en.wikipedia.org] will occur when ice is exposed directly to solar radiation, in addition to any thermodynamic induced melting.

Thanks for the reports and encouragement. We have a new version deploying now, and we're fixing additional bugs for another hotfix later today as well.

The new build is v0.2.3419.16755

Which also contains speech bubbles above heads, when people type in multiplayer (previously, was only in chat).

We had serious issues affecting many users (but weirdly, not all - due to different computers initializing differently) that made the tutorials completely unplayable.

We are deploying a hotfix for this now.

It is understandable that new players would be very annoyed with trying to play, and the tutorials being broken for them. it's a regretable error and we're very sorry for it. So we came in on the weekend to fix the issue, which is now depolying as v0.2.3418.16750 (check steam has actually downloaded this version)

Again, very sorry to those new users we let down.

Ice will always melt in a 100kPa environment if it is above freezing, and not in a container that prevents atmos access (like a mining belt)

Apologies, a hotfix is deploying. Will be v0.2.3418.16750 once it is live.

I will update this post once it is live.

Some of the bugs related a nasty bug that only affected about 50% of users. One of two of them affected everyone.

Apologies folks.

Im having trouble finding myself! I'll double check, I believe it should be on by default. It is supposed to be toggleable.

We are in the process of migrating a number of things, so I will check this and confirm.

You do not need to play via VPN.

However, you need to either:
* Port forward your router; or
* Enable UPnP

You also need to:
* allow the application through your firewall

I am not sure how VPN would help at all, in fact I think it would likely make things much worse.

Once the ice sublimates, it can often be very very cold.

Ice melt to temperature
Ice melting occurs due to temperature, but the gas must be above the armstrong limit (6.3kPa) for most thermodynamics to occur in the game (if below that, particles are considered too far apart). This isn't *quite* how it is, the armstrong limit is a real thing... but we moved a lot of numbers around it to make the simulation more predictable.

Ice will sublimate in a vaccum, as it gets heated due to solar radiation, if it is in direct sunlight.

Yep - there is a dedicated server for either linux or windows.

A guide is available: https://github.com/rocket2guns/StationeersDedicatedServerGuide

Note that it has recently been updated with entirely new netcode. Much better than before, but many guides will be outdated and based on the old system.

There is a setting for "pause when empty".

Note players need to be in an oxygenated (and CO2 scrubbed) sleeper to keep living.
