We identified some issues that would cause this, and recently put a major change in to fix some of the causes for this on beta

We did look into what it would take to upgrade to UE5.

Unfortunately many of the things we are doing are custom additions we made to UE, and some of those would need to be redone. Additionally, a lot of our art work would need to be redone to make use of nanite, etc...

This would be very, very expensive - probably 25 to 50% of the cost it was for us to make the game.

No problem at all, and you posting helped me fix the bug. Only feedback is it’s great to make a new thread (like this) as then we all see it easier and not think it’s an old bug.

It was a serious bug and important to fix, so thank you for helping us find it!

Note this is a beta bug. Please don’t post the same thing in multiple places and in different threads, that aren’t relevant to the issue. A fix is being deployed to beta now. The beta updates very often, so for a stable experience best to play on main branch

We have been completely redoing rockets, so you will build them completely in a similar way you build other structures. Additionally we have redone and fixed a number of other problems and bugs.

You can read through the coming changelog on discord.

It’s a very big update!

Note in a future update we are planning to add more advanced suits, which will have the ability to have seperate cooling tanks with (for example) liquid cooling tank instead of the game trying to use gas to do so

The beta branch had been quite unstable, and had game breaking bugs. However it is now getting quite stable as we stopping adding features and started just bug fixing. I just finished about six hours on the beta branch with no game breaking bugs, though a few fixes I will be putting in tomorrow

I was sad to see it go to

But we have been thinking about improving the “hardcore” mode and I thinking bringing this back and making it even tougher for that could be in the cards

you can also mod your own difficulty settings, but you need to do this by adding a difficulty setting as a mod to the main game.

It is a serious issue for us.

We will be releasing a survey, posting the details here and on Discord, to ask the community which action they recommend we take, and how we should take it.

We are open to migrating the game to an alternate engine.

Steam is often corrupting the game files while downloading updates. Note that verifying game files does not seem to fix this.

You need to go to the install directory, then uninstall the game, and ensure all the files are deleted. Then reinstall the game.

It is a very annoying bug we see quite often with how steam is applying game updates.

Apologies, it was set to "must by together". I have changed it to "Complete the set". Let me know if this works for you.

Note the experimental branch contains major fixes towards this issue. It will be deploying to main branch sometime in the next few hours.

(got the video replying here)

Note we deliberately have not encrypted the files so that, if people want, they can easily award themselves the DLC. This is in line with our studio policy of not including DRM wherever possible. It is very easy to bypass our DLC restrictions, and this is intended.

This is also why we were so confused with the tone of your other thread, as we believe we do everything we can to be consumer friendly.

Yes, in fact we have a new animal almost ready to go. We plan to significantly iterate on how mounts are in the game, as well as introduce new mounts. A new mount might be next weeks update (not this week, but the week after). Note this plan might have to change.

We are testing a performance update on the opt-in experimental beta branch. If you could try that and let me know if it helps, that would be amazing.

We are targeting 1 - 2 months internally. I must stress though this is subject to change. Currently we believe the remaining work is relatively straightforward, but it will depend quite a lot on how our testing goes.

Regardless are really excited we will be able to bring the missions inside of the open world experience for Olympus and styx. I think styx is underrated, and this I think will really bring that beautiful map out.

We will include additional estimates and updates in each of our weekly update posts as we proceed with the work.

If you shoot someone they will take damage. So in that sense, there is "support" for PVP in that players will take damage. But the game was not developed with what is needed to handle anti-social behavior, as it was designed to be a PVE experience in coop.

To make a proper and acceptable PVP environment for players we would need to make a lot of things "server authoritative". This means if a player wants to do something, we would either need to do that on the server and broadcast to clients, or have the server vet (and correct) things that are wrong. This involves a lot of complexity and a performance cost.

It was something we had discussed, but currently I would not recommend or advocate the game as a PVP experience, unless you trusted the people you were playing with to not use hacks or mods, or to cheat their experience.
