Hello Fault Fam!
This weeks blog we’re seeing more updates for patch 14. We’ve spoke about our new systems that will be implemented once 14 comes around. We will continue to showcase different updates leading up to the major patch.

Lobby Map Showcase
Let’s show something a little different this time. Our level artists have been hard at work creating these amazing new maps for our new lobby. You’re looking at the new Dawn Lobby map. This map will appear for players in draft on the dawn side of the map. Along with its incredible lighting, your hero will stand in the middle of this breathtaking scene as you choose your team to go into battle.

Welcome to today’s community update!

The work on our next major patch and our first large scale event is going very well. We plan to begin showing off more details about the patch such as but not limited to; A.I gameplay, new screens, new animations and more. We'll be updating the community about the changes leading up to our announcement. For now, lets take a sneak peak of our new UI screens, dive into more information on our A.I, along with a preview of upcoming items!

Patch 14 event After patch 13 was launched, we monitored our community in order to judge everybody's reactions. We saw how the changes made to the game had a tremendous positive impact on how it played and felt. Fault will continue to improve with time but with that said we feel confident once patch 14 is released, our marketing team will advertise our game more widely to the gaming community.

Today we talk about a few topics including a preview of upcoming changes to our draft menus, upcoming items, and a couple of new additions to our team!

General Starting Gold
  • Starting gold has been reduced from 650 to 550.
The early game is a crucial, high-stakes phase of a MOBA that requires very key decision making and technical execution to successfully battle it out with your lane opponent. Since Fault has released, we've offered enough gold at the start of a match to allow for laners to buy 1-2 refillable health and mana potions, each with 2 charges that refresh when entering base, and this has allowed for high levels of relatively cheap sustainability during the lane phase. This has multiple implications, from allowing poor decision making and execution to have fewer repercussions (if one takes a poor trade, healing/mana regeneration is always available) to removing the strategy from choosing if more sustain through consumable or refillable potions are necessary in a given situation (especially on heroes with little to no regeneration in their kits). As we stated last week we have changed our blog post format from weekly to bi-weekly, this is to coincide with our new bi-weekly patches.

Support and Toxicity
Our support team has been working non-stop to do the best we can to battle toxicity in the game, in the past 2 months a whopping 12,739 bans have been issued by our team. While we understand this is a competitive game and that environment can lead to heated moments in chat, we want to do all we can to ensure players both old and new feel comfortable in-game.

Due to feedback and the introduction of our regular bi-weekly patches, we will be moving our weekly blog posts to a bi-weekly format alternating between patches and blog posts every week. As we schedule more and more regular content, we plan to shift around our dates to better fit our community and the content we have planned.

Lesser Helix Our pre-Prime map objective, the Lesser Helix, is set to be implemented in our next bi-weekly patch. This new objective will give our players more to consider when planning their tactics while also providing another main early objective compared to just slaying the Raptor.

The Lesser Helix grants each member of the team a 15% bonus true damage to the next attack they hit on a turret for 180 seconds, it will spawn at 8 minutes in the orb prime pit.

Ontop of the features listed in the most recent weekly updates, such as our main menu overhaul, the team’s main priorities are focused towards our mastery and player onboarding systems. These system's such as Mastery, Hero AI, and Bot modes are crucial to have in place for our current community before we begin to grow our player base further. We will have multiple inside looks into these systems in future weekly updates as we continue to give you all an inside look into development.
