You still can, by just downloading the respective staging version, currently it's 2246.

There is no supported way to do that.

There might be other ways, but those would effectively constitute a ToS violation, as it's a manipulation of our server list to the disadvantage of our players.

You should be able to do that all well in the first three hours of a world, there even is a CivicImportExportMod that helps. :)

Please note that this is prohibited on the official servers and will get both accounts banned, one temporarily, the other permanently. As of my knowledge most big community servers also prohibit this in their rules, so first you'd need to find a server that actually allows it.

Playtest unfortunately only supports the steam version at this time. (You can connect to it, if you know the exact build number, though. Currently it's 2240.)

If you play via Steam and it asks you for login data, there is an issue with Steam (restart it) or with your internet connection (make sure it's on). You don't need a SLG account to login for it and your SLG account probably won't work either, as staging runs on a staging database that is not regularly synced with production, hence your SLG account may not be on it yet.

Also note, that in case you wanted to participate in playtest, the "playtest" branch would be the correct one, not "staging".

I assumed this was a typo in the game, but here you are spelling it out the same way. Do you know something I don't know, or are you perpetuating the typo?

It's an easter egg, referencing the menu item of a restaurant down the street of our former office.

That is very nice and commendable of you, but unfortunately not very realistic in terms of the vast majority of our players and our need to provide a balance of bugfixes, polish and new stuff to keep the company financed and running.

I heard of people that did have good results with Proton, though, much better than with the native client.

It's a known issue for cars to teleport to 0,0, just like rubble. For cars we got a workaround that stops this in Update 9.5, but we couldn't find the underlying cause yet. Once we found that, cars and also rubble should be able to be properly fixed. Mostly Steam Trucks are affected.

There will be an announcement about that relatively soon over on Steam.

The WIP skills are being worked on by Jens and will probably be fixed with a total overhaul in 10.0.

We do plan to provide a store history in the future, the economy statistics in Eco are currently really basic to non-existant, so we plan several improvements on that.

There is no publicly available statistics about this. White-Tiger has indeed for a long while uncontestedly been the most populated server based on rough player numbers (if you ignore short-term streamer servers that vanish after a cycle until the game is streamed again, noone can beat those), but it is an official server and as such has an advantage over community servers due to higher visibility and professional support. I can obviously not say how popular it actually is aside of that, as you can hardly make statistics about that in numbers, but we have managed to create a great community around it, that nowadays is embedded into the general Eco community and serves every player by trying to make the most out of what Eco can do while incorporating as many different playstyles as compatible with the server as possible. And as a server admin that is all that counts for me.

If you were to choose a server, I would recommend to not go by population, though. It depends on wh... Read more

We are getting marked on every update, as we don't have the resources (nor the will, tbh) to pay us into each of the antivirus softwares whitelists that prevent that from happening and all we contacted have been uncooperative aside of the offer to buy us into that. It typically goes away after a while on it's own for most of them as well. (Alternatively you can report false positives to them, that also helps)

It's one of the many reasons I personally don't recommend to use anything else than Windows Defender, you just don't need it... Read more

We neither have maintenance going on nor any outage of our services in monitoring. Also haven't seen any other reports. Maybe thre was a hickup in network routing over to the auth server from your place?

No, there really isn't something you could do. Eco just needs a lot of resources for server hosting. You don't need a second game copy for setting up a dedicated server on it's own machine or a dedicated server. You can also get them at several game server providers like Ping Perfect or G-Portal.

Please try what I wrote in my first post in this topic, Eco itself is not involved in these errors.
