Hmm, adults definitely don't age differently than kids. Age is marked (for humans at least) by hours, so they both age at the same rate. I usually hear that humans populate too quickly, so I wonder if you're building enough homes/beds for your settlement?
Time does pass weirdly and that's intentional. If time worked like our world, you could play for hours and hours and never see a child become an adult. You would never see the growth of your community, and the family trees unfold. Also, you'd never perceive the difference between long lived races and short lived ones. I want players to appreciate that Ancients live forever, while Human lives are fleeting. Without that sped up time, they would feel the same. I want players to be able to develop a settlement, and see generations of families come and go, and be able to look back down a lineage of greatness. I want you to see monarchs come and go. I want some of your settlers to become legends that other settlers talk about...
