Hey everyone, just wanted to pop on and reiterate what was said in the article here.

Jeff will be missed, and while I’m sad to see a friend go, I will always encourage someone to follow their passion. Jeff was given an opportunity to lead a large project with Skydance entertainment, on a particular IP that had always been close to his heart, and was also in VR, another passion of his.

I know what it means to follow your passion... that’s how and why I started Intrepid, and began building Ashes. The team has grown considerably and will be growing to over 150 developers before the end of the year. And the team and I are grateful for the time and hard work Jeff put into Ashes. I know how hard it was for him to make this decision, and say goodbye to friends and family here. But ultimately I know what weighed most for him was knowing that the project is in a great place on the eve of our major Alpha One milestone and that we will carry forward with the amazing team of ...

You’re definitely a natural. The flow in your presentation is very good. Was easy to listen to. You should consider making more content if you enjoyed doing this ;)

Hi Ziz, to be clear, I removed you from the official content creator program because you claimed that Intrepid was not working on our mmorpg...Which was a falsity you wanted to spread because you were unhappy with our development process.

You then subsequently created a video that insinuated pretty heavily that our project was a scam, helping to fuel the tin foil tribalist haters on /mmorpg. So I removed you from our community.

To be clear, there are a lot of people putting our blood sweat and tears into making this game, spending countless hours working to make something that will make our community proud. When an individual of your talents chooses to act in such a manner, it can be quite demotivating. Regardless, hope you are well and staying healthy 👍

I agree my commentary was unprofessional and I will endeavor to be more tempered in my response on issues I care a lot about. Sometimes it’s difficult when, as a player, I was excited for their MMO and what it brought to the mmo space. Which desperately needs new successful products.

I also have a strong view that cosmetics and subs are a good monetization strategy for maintaining content updates on MMORPGs. We all know what free to play causes and b2p causes a high barrier to entry (though I’m not AS opposed to b2p). The optimal business model imo is a sub with cosmetic only shop.

Reasoning;

Subs supply the developers with a steady income to make content. And MMOs live and die from their content. It also incentivizes the team to perform with that content. Meaning the content will need to be good to retain users over a period of time, not just during that content launch.

I've extended the refund policy to 90 days going forward and backdated this to take effect from May 5th onward.

I think that their quarterly earnings report was likely at the forefront of their board's decision on that one. Luckily, I have no board and will always do whats right by the game and the players.

I’m ok with criticism. Especially when the opinion is rooted in reasoning, so it can be constructive. The only time I’ve removed a content creator was when they slid into conspiracy and falsities. At that point they can continue creating content but not under an official capacity.

The primary focus of an official content creator is to help provide information about the project to viewers and to encourage constructive feedback/engagement from their audiences on the games development.

This is inaccurate. The referral system has remained the same since its announcement. In fact, since then several games/companies have introduced similar systems to ours. The referral system on the website will be undergoing changes in the coming months to revamp the UI for users who wish to see collected referrals and custom referral campaigns :)
