@erick_avalos915 @RyanSumo's Academia School Simulator is along the same lines as my original design, give it a try.

I just noticed that this prototype was also made after my failed magic school simulator prototype.

You can see I kept using the graphics for the students' desks in the room near the bottom.

@idewla We redid the art but the concept remains.

The code behind this was later re-used for Starship Architect prototypes, which evolved into Eclipse Colony and then RimWorld.

It's charming to note that some of this code is still running in RimWorld today.

@schoos76 I actually don't agree, I think the changes from 42 to 80 were much more impactful.

Accessible jet travel, television, nuclear weapons and power, refrigerators and washing machines, personal air conditioning, various vaccines and medical advances...

@DrCrypt I remember Hyperion being more profound - but I was a lot younger when I read it.

@schoos76 Well I wasn't there for 1980, but it still feels kind of familiar.

I think the big thing is probably just that the world changed more from 42-80 than 80-now. In 42 there was a giant world war with millions dying.
