The Vigil skin/charm is a reward for Rainbow Six Extraction and not Siege but you earn it by playing Siege.

You will need to contact Customer Support if you feel you are missing a Reward Containment Pack.

It would only be if you bought your one from one of their digital stores. If you bought retail it would be a different story. You’d need to open a support ticket with one of them.

This refund for consoles is a Sony/Microsoft only process so it will not affect PC versions

As I said the exact same day the game was originally, NEVER SAY NEVER but yes January should be the final date

Hey!

I can say with certainty that Castle was not confirmed in any promotional art.

I can't say whether or not he'll be in the game but I will point you towards this video from CoreRoss which talks about reinforcements and Doors in Extraction which may make you feel differently about if Castle would be a good fit for Extraction.

Thanks a million :)

Going in looking at it like a what if like Marvel Zombies or something does make it a lot less confusing.

So the main R6 is still counter terror then? Like uh Earth one Flash is Barry Allen and Earth 2 Flash is Jay Garrick, that kinda thing?

The comment from /u/UpComin which contains a link to answer from the recent AMA is the best response to that question I think.

Hey!

The Containment event in Siege will have been worked on for several months. It was always planned to release on the date it did and the delay to Extraction had zero baring on it. Your assumption is off base as Containment and Extraction have no bearing on one another even if Containment is totally inspired by Extraction.

Hey!

I'm pretty sure it's explained in Outbreak but essentially I believe Ash was first drafted in to assess what was going on in ToC as an expert. They had no idea what was was causing the issue and the possibility of biological terrorism couldn't be ruled out. It's Ash who asks Six to bring in some of Rainbow to tackle the outbreak and suggests recruiting the GIGN experts in Lion and Finka.

In Extraction a specialist branch in the form of REACT has been formed to deal with the situation.

I cannot argue that the Archaens don't feel out of place in a Rainbow Six game but it's been clarified that both Outbreak and Extraction are considered non-canon to the story of Siege and take place in an alternate universe/reality. Consider them "what-if?" scenarios.

I can say having played the entire game extensively that Extraction has more in common with the original 1998 Rainbow Six game than even Siege does. Suspend your disbelief on the Archaens and yo...

Hey!

Yes there is a progression system in the game and it has a couple of aspects to it. I can't say anymore than that right now but the short answer to your question is YES!

So because it takes 9 months to develop one operator and it takes around 9months to develop a map. The chances of new maps or ops in the future are almost non existant? 12 new exclusive maps is amazing to hear.

Yeh we expected new ops because when a brand new rainbow six game is released we have high expectations, new ops is always an appreciation and in a game like extraction which seems to be quite hyped, ops which a primarily created to tackles archaens would be awesome.

But hey 9months is long.

At least you got LION

Best op in rainbow six history

Here’s the reason they decided to have no new Operators in Extraction: https://www.nme.com/news/gaming-news/rainbow-six-extraction-will-only-feature-operators-from-siege-2982808?amp

And yeah they used to release 8 Ops per year. But they didn’t start working on those 8 at the beginning of that year. They started working on them months and months and months in advance. Some Ops are getting worked on right now that we won’t see until 2023. It’s not as simple as you start working on a Op and bang exa...

Alibi has the exact same gadget, thank god you've made it so it replicates the In game outfit but that's the only difference seen.

It's far too early for me to make any judgements, these secondary gadgets I assume won't be massive but they seem interesting.

It just seems we are paying £60 for a game that's just like siege, except its a different environment with different enemies.

Sounds brilliant😂

Most players have no concept of how long it takes to develop a single Operator in Siege. From concept to actually getting them in game, it takes about 9 months. Maps take a similar amount of time. There’s 12 Maps that are unique to Extraction. 12 HUGE maps.

Never was it suggested that Extraction would have unique Operators. This is something that the community has taken upon themselves to complain about but they created this expectation themselves out of thin air.

Brilliant

Copy Paste by definition implies that the Operators in Extraction are exact carbon copies of the ones in Siege. That’s not the case. Most if not all the Operators in Extraction are slightly different to their Siege counterparts. Their gadgets perform slightly differently as they have been adapted to fit the Archaens. If we take the example of Chanka. He is different than Siege as he has access to his turret in Extraction, which he does not in Siege.

Are there some that behave exactly like in Siege? Yes. Sledge comes to mind but if it’s not broke don’t fix it IMO.

You’re also ignoring that Extraction Ops are not limited to the load outs that you have in Siege.

You’re also ignoring the Extraction exclusive secondary gadgets.

I could go on but I think I’ve done

Brilliant

Hey!

Paraphrasing from another post I made:

In Outbreak, you were predominately fighting humans in the process of being infected with the Chimera Parasite/Virus AKA "The Archaens"

In Extraction, you are predominately fighting the Archaens themselves, hence why they look more alien than human. You are the first person I’ve seen say they look more human than alien now. I’ve seen people say they look less zombie-like and more alien-like but this is a new one.

I can also say that there is still plenty of atmospheric maps and areas that will give you a creepier/tense feeling. You've barely seen any of the map scope in the game.
