Can confirm, I just played the best game I have ever played, literally inch perfect with Cymanti, and I got 75th top high score. Im top 30 in several others and didnt play nearly that well. With the 299% boost that would have been 12th. I understand there are some other considerations there. I guess 100k is still possible, but why do you want this game to be about having a monument on every square inch of the board?

To some extent, we've had to come to terms with gamemodes like Perfection and Domination not exactly vibing with the fact that we have 16 tribes now (with more on the way) on top of new game mechanics. Not exactly something Midjiwan was planning 8 years ago, and things are starting to show their age.

So, we're in the process of rolling out changes to the formula as we try to get things to "mesh" better with our plan for the game.

While I cant say we've perfected it, we can say that we're trying to make these older features a bit more relevant and updated.

I cant believe no one is talking about reducing the high score bonus on max opponents crazy from 299% to 245%. That is such a massive slap in the face of those of us who love the game and play for high scores.

We made Temples faster, so we had to reduce the score multiplier to compensate.

One of our alphas mentioned the potential to get 300K scores after this patch because of it.

They made getting high scores impossible. I like every change but reducing from 299% to 245%. It completely disincentivizes the most avid of us players for grinding for high scores. If you are going to do this, reset every high score.

We did make temples easier to use to compensate

It takes more effort to update. We'll get it out as soon as we can.

Clearly they practice sustainable lumbering. ...Well, everybody does with Lumber Huts...

This is my explanation.

There's a bug difference between "sustainable lumbering" and "rampant deforestation".

Why in some maps we don’t have ‘Burn Forest’?

Can you give me an example?

I'll let them in on a secret.

Before they hop back into the game, they should tap the "Resign" button on the game popup.

That's actually the Kazakh word for "remove all the boats on the map," which we made sure was there for moments like this.

Ask them to push it, and all your worries will be gone. ;)

I have a lore question which I wanted to know for a long time. So the units we play with are not single Politopians but should represent regiments with hundreds of soldiers right?

Does the same thing counts for giants? Are they really one mountain sized single unit or are they also a regiment of multiple "giants" which are just a taller, stronger and more durable subspecies of polytopians but not as big as represented.

I always imagined them compared with normal polytopians like Space Mariens compared to normal soldiers if this says something to you.

So, we haven't delved much into Giants yet, so this answer may change.

But I like to think of Giants as single units, compared to the normal battalions of standard Polytopians.

No, as we've already shown the animals next to the Polytopians on plenty of occasions

Oh really? Never know that. Would explain why the cities are so tiny or the animals are so large then.

Well, the animals are to scale, also being like, 4" tall.

Their size on the screen is just for user convenience.

Humans have never inhabited the Square.

Besides, the Polytopians are only 4" tall, so we wouldn't fit well anyway

The best players being in the bug tribe is more a preference of people playing small, fast matches, which the cymanti (bug) tribe is very good in. If you read their lore, you'll see that they're humans who breed and control bugs and have a symbiotic relation with the ciru bug.

Well, they're not "humans".

They're Polytopians. :P

Requirements like what? There is not even a chat function where players could be toxic or anything.

It was more technical. They had very specific requirements, like how we could use our servers and other sorts of things, that they pulled on us really late in development.
