Eh both are wishy washy.

Good and Evil are totally subjective terms anyway.

On the loosest level this seems about right. Though "dark" and "light" as moral concepts is a tad confusing. Dark and Light are both elements that are part of the world of RuneScape and are as vital as one another for a balanced world.

But our gods are a bit more nuanced than this chart suggests and will deviate from their "alignment" in the right circumstances.

Also where's Brassica Prime? Bestest god.

You could get a working prototype in that time. Possibly even looking tolerable, but you'd need longer to get the balancing and feel right and to get the full graphics in place as well.

Then of course there's the rewards...

That's quite likely. Looks at certain kickstarted games

So, 2-4 weeks is really not much time. We could do some bugfixes and maybe one or two tiny things, but 2-4 weeks is I'm afraid not going to get you much.

For context, most of the updates we release have a dev cycle of about 3 months, with the bigger updates taking longer. That time is needed for the design, scriping, graphics, audio and QA and even then we're often really up the the wire with time.

I mean obviously I'm totally on board with me just being given infinite resources and infinite time to just add whatever I would like to the game. But realistically it's sometimes good for someone to be able to shake their head at me and tell me no. ;)

My friend was an avid runescape player, i actually met him through runescape and ive known him and his cousin for the past 6 years of my life. He might have not had all 99's but thats not what he cared about, he was a big quester and got quest cape multiple times since they release new quests here so often. What im trying to say is, this game makes memories, and i have plenty of amazing memories of my friend with this game that ill never forget and he will always live on through these memories. I miss you man, rest easy, and i promise one day ill finally kill araxxor. Even if its not with you, i know youll still be there with me when i do it.

Edit: Thank you all for the support, it really means a lot to his family, his friends, and me. Theyve all seen this post and are very happy of all the kind things youre all saying and all the support youre showing. Runesca...

I'm sorry for your loss.

Cherish the memories and focus on the good times. Remember him as he would like to be remembered and slay Araxxor in his name. He believed in you and so do we.

The shard of the needle will have uses in future content. Some of which I am working on right now. ;)

Which mods were responsible for this quest?

Mod Osborne wrote the quest. Mod Krista (now left Jagex) did the original quest coding and flow. Mod Helen did the current implementation of the needle interface, allowing us to reuse it in future much easier. Mod Grace did the music and got the voice acting done. I did the final stages of coding to bring it from prototype to final product.

The word input form got tedious after a while (the input line has this annoying delay to it) but it's something fresh, new, and a completely new way to experience a quest, so it's a plus in my books.

Overall very well made quest. Thank you. More of this type of stuff, please.

Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I've made a copy of your character and just tested it. The following steps appear to work fine.

  1. Walk up the hill and go to the big needle on the hill.
  2. Click it.
  3. Don't click out.

This put me right where I would expect you to be.

Clicking the needle on the hill should give you the missing shard. Can you try leaving the area (go back over the bridge) and then click the Needle on the hill again.

If this doesn't work can you give me your username so I can see what's happened.

Check your inventory again, if you have clicked the needle on the hill you should be given the shard. There's a chance some weird graphics sorcery has happened, in which case mouse over the boxes in your backpack and it could just be the shard has turned invisible for some reason.

Glad you enjoyed it. There's extra rewards if you complete all the sections and get all the words. ;)

As well as more story of course.

In about half an hour (though really this is a Mod Osborne/Krista quest and I just helped with the finishing touches).
