Unable to place items on floor

Hi there!

You will need a solid foundation first. Try placing beams and then place the floor on top. Icarus has structural integrity and so uneven flooring could result in it breaking.

The second part to this is ensuring you are placing your crafting bench and other tables/benches on a good foundation, inside a house with walls and a roof.

Next beta weekend, storms will be at full functionality, and large benches, tables, furnaces etc need to be placed under cover where they are the most safe, as storms can break/ruin them completely.

TIPS
  • For NVIDIA GPU owners, you must ensure you're running the latest drivers (dated 10th August or later). Also, enabling DLSS will greatly improve your performance.

  • On some systems the frame limiter will default to a limit of 24fps. Most players will want to set this to a higher value.

  • If you encounter any problems, returning to character select or quitting the game and restarting can help with a wide range of issues during Beta.

  • Various issues in multiplayer can be avoided by waiting for your host to fully load into their drop before joining it.

  • If your frame rate starts to drop as host after an hour or two on a drop, just get the host to return to character select and restart.

BUGS
  • Crash affecting some AMD graphics cards
    Fix: Rollback drivers to version 21.6.1 which released on 17/6/2021...

We are sorry that you do not agree with our price point. During our beta weekends you can play for as many hours as you like and still get a refund up until the last beta weekend on the last day :)

While there is no specific PvP features, there is friendly fire. We have not promoted that sort of play between friends, but I am expecting players to find ways of gamifying it anyhow.

To fix this, would you prefer I said spread across? There are many words I can change it to, but I think this argument is very silly.

We have had in-studio discussions around renaming it "supporters" pack, yes. No definitive answer there just yet.

We acknowledge we should have added more value to the "deluxe" edition originally. Hopefully we come to a consensus soon on whether we will implement such changes.

In the mean time, thanks for your pre-order! Only one week until the beta, let us know what you think once you start playing!

From launch, you can access our "server browser" and join any games that prospectors have open (unless their capacity is full).

Everyone who has pre-ordered Icarus on Steam will gain access to our Beta Weekends!

The Icarus Beta app will appear in your Steam Library for you to download once the first weekend goes live.

Which timezone are the Beta Weekends being based in?
Pacific Daylight Time (US) 5pm Fridays through to 10pm Sundays This means that each Beta Weekend will span across a period of three days. We wish to reach and accommodate as many time zones as possible! If you try to play Icarus outside these times, you’ll see a message explaining that our servers are switched off - in which case, wait and come back for the next scheduled Beta Weekend.

What effects will lack of nutrition/hydration have on the character or character skills?

Will meat need to be cooked?
Will water need to be purified?
Will injuries need to be treated with more detail then simply using a "medi-pack?"

Any insight as to how deep survival goes would be much appreciated.
We have a lot of Steam Posts on the way, yet to be written, including Buffs, Debuffs, Elemental effects and what have you!

We are an independent studio and have a small team. Currently we can only pump out maybe 2 Steam posts a week with the current workload.
