I don't make the comment to diminish the experiences of people who have had poor experiences at Riot, simply that you will always hear more about the poor experiences than the good ones.
Honestly as much of a bad rep as Riot's work environment gets on Reddit I can't imagine it isn't immensely enjoyable for the most part.
I don't want to go off making grandiose public statements but I would say that you should remember selection bias. You rarely hear about when things are going well, only when things are bad.

This opens up for the possibility of 4 groups of 6 teams, which would allow for every team to have a guaranteed 10 games at worlds, with all the 1st placed teams going directly to the quarterfinals and all the 2nd and 3rd placed teams battling it out for the last 4 quarterfinal spots. If this somehow could be fit into the schedule, without drawing out worlds too much, this could be insane.

You should be wary. You should carefully consider anything you install on your computer, user-mode or ring-0.
The comments about other drivers are just meant to put the risk into perspective; you already have lots of drivers with vulnerabilities running in ring-0 already and you probably didn't know about it.

Let's be honest between you and me. Tencent own Riot. They can do whatever they want with it. Don't answer because you could get in trouble, but everyone knows that Tencent can do anything they want with your software. They OWN Riot.
Vanguard is owned and developed by Riot.
And Tencent own Riot, including assets. That's what ownership means. Can you confirm this.

I'm not some crazy conspiracy theory, I'm just a dude who wants to know exactly what's running 24-7 on my PC, including who owns it, and who makes the decisions about it. I'm really not qualified to answer that kind of question. Like, technically, yes, Tencent could become very authoritative over Riot, in a similar way to how the Queen of England is technically in charge of the UK.
