Submit these to https://icarus.featureupvote.com/ and upvote suggestions there that you agree with. I'll pass these comments on to the devs, but FeatureUpvote gets the most attention from the dev team. We've already implements heaps of player suggestions from there.

Take it out. Put it back. No, not like that. Take it out again ;-)

Making it an option is an interesting idea. We kind of applied this approach when why added difficulty options plus insurance and hardcore to the missions - to aim to cater for those who find Icarus too hard and those who find it too easy.

Thanks.

We made this (pretty fundamental) change back in April, but aren't sure if word has spread to let players know about the change, and to come back and try it again.

It was often a shock to people to log back in again and see their character lost. On one hand it really created a sense of tension and risk for many players, but on the other hand maybe it created tooo much.

In short: the UDA don't care about contractors. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZyd1e51YMo

The pinned Lore thread links to this page with a bit more info: https://surviveicarus.com/lore/

Their first act was to cannibalize the remains of the original terraforming mission. The result: the Orbital Stations. Aging factory ships had failed their original task, these were repurposed as makeshift homes for the first Icarus ...

Unfortunately I don't think this will be the case, pity because it will spoil a promising idea with this lack of ambition.

From day one we've talked about our plans for more non-earth like elements in our future DLC, so yep that's always been the plan. You can see them on our Supporters Edition steam page.

Some elements that you might not have considered as part of the game loop could be the workshop items and your character. These progress permanently over time, even if your base doesn't.

Next time you drop in, crafting might be faster due to your talents or tools. Or you might be able to skip some lower tier things. Maybe only have room to bring certain tools down with you on the next drop. You might need to grow multiple specialist characters to master every mission type.

Bases aren't the only possible form of permanence. Having said that, you'll have seen we are also expanding on what's possible in the Outposts (like the full map-wide Olympus Outpost we added last week) for people who love building.

When you 'Remove from Prospects' it will only retain your Workshop items. As usual, you can't take items you've crafted during a mission back up into orbit with you.

Hey Everyone,

A few of our players are experiencing issues with their loadouts and items disappearing on their oldest characters when embarking on a drop. This is a serious concern for us and is currently our top fix priority. We are attempting a solution for this problem before our next patch drops, as part of this you may experience some disconnections.

For those who have been affected by this issue, you are able to rescue your items by using the debug 'Remove From Prospect' button if your character is still on the drop and you have not left via dropship. If you want us to investigate meta items you have lost, feel free to reach out at [email protected] providing your SteamID, your character name, and what was lost. If you're interested in what's going on I've pro... Read more

Try putting a over-hang or “floor” piece above the glass, it’ll help protect it.

Yes, we're working on a fix for this and chasing the developer of the game audio system that Icarus uses.

In the meantime a temporary workaround seems to be to play Icarus in windowed mode (not full screen). Does that work for you?

We're working on a fix for this for you.

It's been a really a weird, inconsistent bug. As you can see in this thread, many other people don't have issues, or inconsistent things like logging in again or restarting can resolve it. That's also meant that our devs couldn't reproduce the bug to find and fix it, despite testing and playing the mission many times over the last few weeks. So, we're going to add a workaround that should fix it. Keep an eye on the next 1-2 weekly update patch notes for a fix.

There are several advantages to storing the Outpost saves locally, especially performance-wise as that mode is designed to support large complex builds and store them with no time limit or expiry date. Enabling offline play by saving locally not on our servers also suits this kind of creative mode, which is often a time-consuming solo labor of love. A lot of players don't like single-player games that are unnecessarily 'always online'. It's also a mode where cheating doesn't affect other players in any way.

Sorry to hear this!

Outposts are saved on your local harddrive, but characters are saved on the game servers. So reinstalling Icarus would have wiped your Outposts.

This is mentioned in the FAQ but probably isn't super obvious. ... Read more

We’ve made some big decisions and big improvements which we believe set Stationeers up for a great year in 2022.

While we’ve been quiet for a while, this isn’t because we haven’t been working on Stationeers. Quite the opposite. In October last year we did a strategic review, and identified key areas of technical debt that if we took the time to redo would lead to big gains.

However, it meant we paused our monthly updates while we replaced some fundamental systems (such as networking). This decision did not come lightly but we felt it was best investment for the long-term success of Stationeers. Once we started refactoring the multiplayer we realised there was more work than anticipated, but it also created the opportunity to tackle other key systems and go more in-depth than originally planned.

While we don’t... Read more
