Thanks for the kind words! It's lovely to come across stuff like this when starting the day.

I'm always on the lookout for cool settlements to better represent the game. I would be honored if you would let me use your settlement for screenshots to put on Steam and itch.io (similar to the ones there now by Gnomaggedon and Beanie). Hey! To collect water, you have two options: use the collect water job and designate a tile by some water, or use the well house room to create collect water jobs there.

Once you have water, you have to purify it at the campfire room which requires coal and someone with the survival skill as a room owner. Then you can just create jobs from the workstation window (h).

Hope that helps a bit!

I just uploaded 0.8.8.0 to the beta branch. I'm going to fix a few more things before pushing them to the production build tomorrow.

Also, you may be experiencing some bugs with old saves from 0.8.4.2 and before. That's because I didn't properly handle the change to age. So, you'd end up having all your settlers become children. That's one of the last few things I'm fixing up today to get into the prod build.

One big thing I've changed is the tutorial. It now has way more steps and is hopefully better at giving the player a sense for the game. There are several steps missing for it but most of the things are there. However, ...

I 100% agree! This has been something on my list for a while now and, you're right, it needs some love. Thanks for writing this feedback up. It really helps out. I'll make combat a priority once I'm done this current update. :)

Thank you! Just wanted to let you know that the 'marking' option (in-game known as prioirty) was uploaded yesterday. You can get that update if you mark Odd Realm on Steam to allow beta builds. Otherwise, I'll be putting out the normal production build next Friday if you'd rather wait. The Beta build is pretty stable, so no worries there.

As long as you have an Ancient who owns that room, they will periodically (depending on if they are doing other things) go and activate the room. Activating the room will highlight these void based spots for a duration.

This is coming in this Friday’s update. :)

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Just got back from vaca.

To make the Farsight Beacon, you'll need:

1 Void Cell - Requires 3 stone chunk, 1 void crystal

1 Void Stabilizer - Requires 1 iron ingot, 3 void shards

1 Seat - Requires 3 woods logs or 3 stone chunks

Once that's built, it will highlight (when game isn't paused) areas with void based objects with a purple/pink shimmer.

We are planning on giving players the ability to edit data and, ideally, art assets. Is there anything else you’d like to edit? Data pretty much covers everything in the game. I.e., items, entities, terrain gen, scenarios, etc.
