Can you provide any console or darktide launcher logs as well? You can find them by looking at the sticky here

The launcher ensures all the components so you can’t run the exe directly

  1. Run steam as an administrator
  2. Disable your anti-virus as a test
  3. Delete teh appdata folder for darktide as outlined here

Note the game isnt doing anything when steam is installing teh game. Thus its either something with your steam install, the drive you’re installing to, or your anti-virus

You can also try running steam as an administrator as well

Who has been able to solve this by changing or lowering their ‘Video’ options OR lowering their ‘Worker Thread’ count within the launcher’s ‘Settings’ menu?

Thank you for the updates @DrimDrim, and I’m glad you’ve been able to find a workaround that works for now. I’ve passed this information on internally, and we can look to resolve this with Discord.

Based on what has worked for other players, please try the following -

  • Ensure you have appropriate Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions in place for Darktide
  • Check that your Anti-Virus software is up to date

If these don’t do the trick, please try disabling your Anti-Virus software.

I’ve added this to our database. Please could everybody upload a console log?:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names
  5. Upload the appropriate console log to us
