Why the u-turn?
It’s true, we have felt in the past that as a studio we wanted to focus on our proven strengths - making a great co-op game. We like to think Vermintide 2 and it’s predecessor deliver on that goal.

We have always had PvP as a mode for Vermintide in the corner of our minds, though. In terms of focus, it’s been in the ‘cool to have’ box for a very long time, but in terms of priority, the core co-op experience remained at the very top of our list. This hasn’t really changed even with the development of Versus .

Versus was conceived during special weeks we have here in the studio, known as Hack Weeks. Hack Week is a chance for teams to work on ideas which they believe are powerful enough to impact the company or to focus on a particular product instead of working on the official content pipeline.

Over the course... Read more

Are you 100% certain it uninstalled Vermintide 2? It's handled separately, so it certainly shouldn't have done that.

You should be able to have both installed at the same time, providing you have enough space on your drive!

This is pretty good advice. Until we manage to implement Steam 'Blocks' to block a player from your lobby in-game, the best course of action is to make it as difficult as possible (vote kicking, toggling to private after kick, continue to remove them from twitch but say nothing). They're essentially getting a 'kick' out of getting a reaction, so do your... Read more

If you get in touch with Valve / Steam Support they might well refund you the difference if you purchased the game moments before a sale started.

Servers or no servers, we use Steam Matchmaking to put people together.

Hey Lima.

The downtime was a little over 24 hours, so technically everyone the world over who wanted to play some Quickplays or jump in through the lobby browser were affected by the outage during their respective primetime, it wasn't exclusively in EU primetime.

It was still possible to jump in to matches with friends, or use discords / the forums to meet people to play with, it was only matchmaking and lobby browsing that felt the impact of the outage.

Right now our priority is taking measures where possible to avoid such problems in the future. Truth be told, a box or two doesn't go a long way to repairing what happened in the last 30 or so hours. The best I can offer myself is an apology for the trouble.

Ahh how many times I have written this exact same line... ;)

We also haven't patched the game since the skull throne event ended and it was working yesterday.

We have ruled out the possibility of the problem being only in the game client as the lobby searches are working with our test app with the exact same code. Since we use Steamworks for lobby searches we have reached out to Valve and are awaiting their response how to proceed in resolving this issue. It's currently the night over there, so there may be a delay before we can update you.

It is the first time the matchmaking has completely just gone offline. We're currently investigating what has caused this.

Thank you for your patience.

I always default back to WHC. I just really enjoy his basic set up of rapier and BoP. I find nothing more satisfying than fencing my way through the maps. Slayer if I'm feeling spicy, although I'm not particularly useful.

Please avoid posting an all caps title, a thread should be enticing enough from substance alone.

One of our mantras is to try to do right by people, players and developers alike. We want to avoid crunching our teams in to sickness or depression. We try to keep a healthy studio, and that can mean less content comes your way compared to perhaps other games with similarly sized teams.

We are growing though, so hopefully the future will see more content in less time and still having healthy developers with healthy work/life balance which should be reflected in the game :)
