With the conclusion of the first full season of the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) program, it’s time to throw some Mythic Keys on the barbie, as the top four teams from MDI East and the top four teams from MDI West travel Down Under to determine who will be the MDI Spring Champions!

What's New

We’re shaking things up a little bit for this tournament. To start with, all players are now allowed to swap to different characters after each dungeon with no restrictions on classes, races, or factions. As a result, Siege of Boralus has been added to the pool of dungeons; teams will choose which starting point to use based on their chosen faction.

The odds are stacked against you in Queen Azshara’s home territory—but with the right equipment, you can turn the tides in your favor.

In Rise of Azshara, we’re introducing a new type of equipment called Benthic gear, which you’ll earn and collect while adventuring in the naga domain of Nazjatar.

As you explore Nazjatar, you’ll collect Prismatic Manapearls—soulbound currency you can spend to purchase Benthic tokens and upgrades. These bind-to-account tokens can be used to gain a piece of upgradable Benthic gear specific to your armor type (cloth, leather, mail, plate), starting at item level 385. With enough time and effort, players can dedicate their hard-earned Manapearls to upgrade pieces to ilvl 425, just shy of Heroic-level raid gear (ilvl 430).

With the BlizzCon 2019 announcement, we wanted to give more details about the WoW esports on offer in Anaheim, California this fall. BlizzCon this year will have two days of WoW esports celebrations, with the Arena World Championship (AWC) Global Finals and Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) Global Finals sharing the World of Warcraft stage during both days of the event.

The AWC Global Finals will host eight teams at BlizzCon: five from North America/Europe, one from China, one from Asia-Pacific, and one from Latin America, all of whom will battle in a double-elimination bracket. In its 12^th year and with more seasonal Cups than ever before, the AWC Global Finals are sure to deliver as new and veteran players alike fight for the championship.

While the Arena World Championships (AWC) are taking a break in North America and Europe before their LAN finals, it’s time for Asia-Pacific to get in on the action.

AWC Korea, AWC Australia/New Zealand, and AWC Taiwan are kicking off soon, all adjusted from last year to fall in line with the points-based online cups of North America and Europe. These three tournaments will culminate in a live, cross-regional LAN finals in South Korea, which will take place September 28-29. There, the top three point-earning teams from ANZ, the top three point-earning teams from South Korea, and the top two point-earning teams from Taiwan will battle it out for a $36,000 prize pool, the title of APAC champions, and a spot at the AWC Global Finals.
