One of our goals in 9.0.5 has been to address a situation we introduced in Shadowlands with Mythic Keystones never de-leveling. We received a great deal of feedback on our planned adjustment, which is currently outlined in the 9.0.5 patch notes. With this proposed change, we would reintroduce an awkward dynamic where it wouldn’t be possible to sustain running a single Mythic Keystone dungeon per week, even if you always cleared the dungeon in time, because decay would necessitate re-leveling your keys every other week.

When we created the original logic for Mythic Keystones in 2016, we wanted to make sure that players were getting Keystones that appropriately suited their proficiency in Mythic Keystone dungeons, and we wanted to reinforce the importance of clean and well-executed dungeon runs. Having Keystones decay from one week to the next accomplished both of those goals. However, in Shadowlands, we introduced the Great Vault and more Season-driven tracking of performance ...

Earlier this week, the Castle Nathria Hall of Fame filled to completion.

With the next weekly raid reset (Tuesday morning, March 9 in this region), cross-realm Mythic Castle Nathria will become available.

Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to World of Warcraft: Shadowlands and WoW Classic. Some of the hotfixes below take effect the moment they were implemented, while others may require scheduled realm restarts to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. This list will be updated as additional hotfixes are applied.

9.0.5 will arrive on Tuesday, March 9.

Please be reminded that the Great Vault rewards items based on your efforts in the previous week. That means that you should not feel pressured to push Mythic Keystone dungeons excessively over the next few days, as your Mythic Keystone dungeon reward(s) from the Great Vault immediately after the patch goes live will not be an item that can be upgraded with Valor. Keeping items unclaimed through the first week will have no impact on this.

After the first week of the patch, the Great Vault will offer gear that can be upgraded.

Thank you!

As we’ve tested and iterated on the changes in patch 9.0.5, we’ve concluded that Valor for Mythic Keystone Dungeon gear would benefit from an immediate kickstart, so we’re adjusting the configuration of Valor caps. This currency is being added well into Shadowlands Season 1, so we want to pace it as though it’s been available for several weeks, giving players a large measure of gear catch-up capacity from the start.

  • In 9.0.5, there will be a weekly Valor cap that increases by 750 Valor each week, and the cap will start at 5000 Valor earnable in the first week.
  • In the second week of 9.0.5, the Valor cap will be 5750. In week 3, the Valor cap will be 6500, etc.
  • There will be a cap of 1500 on how much Valor a character can hold at a time.

Here are a few examples:

  • A character earns the maximum cap of 5000 Valor on the first week, regardless of what is spent (if any), they’ll be able to earn 750 Valor total the second week....

In patch 9.0.5, we’re reworking the Rogue Necrolord Covenant ability Serrated Bone Spike. We’re now testing this set of changes:

  • Rogue
    • Serrated Bone Spike initial damage increased by 300%.
    • Resolved an issue that prevented Serrated Bone Spike’s initial damage from dealing a critical strike.
    • Serrated Bone Spike now grants 1 combo point plus 1 per active bone spike after it strikes the target.
    • Serrated Bone Spike no longer refunds a charge and gets removed when the target is healed to full.
    • Serrated Bone Spike is now removed when the target leaves combat.

The design intention for this button is: impale your enemy with a bone spike from Maldraxxus, inflicting a permanent damage over time on them. We found that while the ability performed well in situations where multiple targets persisted for long times, it was unattractive elsewhere.

Greatly increasing the spell’s initial damage should improve it...

We’re working on a slate of adjustments to several encounters that we intend to enact with scheduled weekly maintenance (early a.m. PST on March 2 in this region). Here are the planned changes:

Dungeons and Raids

  • Castle Nathria
    • Lady Inerva Darkvein
      • Healers are now chosen as a last resort target of Shared Suffering and Concentrate Anima on Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulties.
      • The ambient damage of Loose Anima for open containers has been reduced on Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulties.
      • Targets of Shared Suffering no longer take damage from the beams they are wearing on Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulties. Passing through the opposite edge will continue to damage targeted players.
    • Hungering Destroyer
      • Health reduced by 5% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Reduced the damage players wearing Gluttonous Miasma t...
