The latest WGC update (not wrapper update) broke wrapper for some Mac computers with Intel GPU cards. CW and WGC teams are working on fixing the issue already.

California takes the role of an American battleship with a large number of low-caliber guns. Due to the citadel under the waterline and large torpedo bulges, the ships boasts good survivability. The ship is similar to New Mexico and inherits the drawback of American low-tier battleships - low speed.

Hit points – 58300. Plating - 25 mm.

Main battery - 4x3 356 mm. Firing range - 17.0 km. Maximum HE shell damage – 5000. Chance to cause fire – 30%. HE initial velocity - 861 m/s. Maximum AP shell damage - 10500. AP initial velocity - 823 m/s. Reload time - 30.0 s. 180 degree turn time - 60.0 s. Maximum dispersion - 230 м. Sigma – 1.70.

Secondary Armament: 8x2 127.0 mm, range - 5.0 km. Maximum HE shell damage – 1800. Chance to cause fire – 5%. HE initial velocity - 792 m/s
AA defense: 41x2 20.0 mm, 8x2 127.0 mm, 14x4 40....

ST, ranked sprints, sound and visual improvements, new camouflages

Ranked Sprint:

There will be 2 ranked sprints in the 0.8.8 update. The 8th sprint will feature battles between tier VII ships in the 6 vs 6 format, and the 9th sprint will have teams of 7 ships at tier VIII.

Sound and Visual Improvements:

We continue to improve sound and graphics of the game:

The sound system was updated: the mechanism for sounds of guns and engines was improved;


Ocean, Big Race, North, Fault Line, Polar and Islands maps and the Philippines port were updated for the new lighting model. They also feature the changed sky due to improved technology;


Towns are added on the Crash Zone Alpha.

New Camouflages:

Bismarck, Cossack and Ark Royal had something in common: one of the most famous cats of WWII "served" on them - Unsinkable Sam. Each of these ships...

How do you know this definitively?

There will definitely be some changes to how the game will be played, but we believe there will be a place for them.

Again, I would encourage you to wait until there is more information released about their game-play etc before racing to hasty, uninformed conclusions.

We have not announced whether eventually they will make it into Randoms, but neither ruled it out.

Thanks for the great and constructive discussion so far.

While I can definitely understand the concern coming in from how the CV rework was introduced and worked through, we are hoping that the issues that came with this will not be repeated.

That is why we are introducing submarines initially into ONLY a special mode so there is ample room to balance and tweak them as needed, while protecting Random/Clans/Ranked/Etc from major live balancing (which was a major mistake we admit from the CV Rework).

I would encourage you all to keep an open mind and an open eye on the Dev Blog over the next little while as we bring more details about how this class will fit into the World of Warships.

Hey MakersMike,

Welcome to World of Warships and USN BBs. I would recommend not stopping the line but taking a pause and make sure you have a grasp of the mechanics before advancing into the higher tiers. Tier VI and Tier VII are where you can get comfortable with the game and not get overwhelmed.

The New Mexico has been around for a long time, so there are a lot of players that have played it. Taking this into account and how many battles are on the New Mexico, it would be almost impossible for 1 player to make a dent in the overall stats of the ship =). What have you seen as negatives about the New Mexico? Slow? Shotgun style dispersion?
