To start off, you may have (or have not) noticed we’ve released a couple chunky hotfixes recently instead of the extended times between updates, and there’s another fix on the horizon. Hotfixes are normally reserved for absolutely game breaking issues, but... A pledge to make the game smoother is a pledge, you see, so across two of the following Tech Tuesdays we will explain why we have decided to speed up the development process with hotfixes between standard updates.

Hotfixing We released the Hotfix this Monday which means voice chat is working swell and sailing should be SMOOTHER.

NOTABLE BUGFIXES AND CHANGES

• Newly learned schematics will have the correct amount of unlocked cipher slots.
• Fixed a bug where schematics could have more cipher slots than the player had unlocked.
• Fixed a bug where players would be unable to listen to other players if the other players were quickly moving in and out of VoIP range.
• Reduced ship rubberbanding
  • General ship motion is smoother now
  • The black spinning circle will appear less frequently
  • Ships won't stop at server boundaries
  • Ships positions should be closer to where they actually are on the server

First of all, a massive thank you for all the lovely messages of support, yesterday has been a roller-coaster for everyone involved, but as we stated last night we are sailing strong and you are our priority.

As you may have also heard, there was talk of a hotfix this week (or figured out from last week’s Captain’s Log, we were working on it), that was fortunately the only thing that got pushed back a little as our focus was momentarily taken away with working on keeping the game up. You will be getting the widely requested hotfix next week which includes improvements to sailing and voice chat. Small but mighty - stay tuned!

It’s that time of year when we can finally look back and reflect on all our hard work, and consider some of the amazing accomplishments we’ve achieved over the last twelve months. Suffice to say, what a year it’s been for both Worlds Adrift and you, our community!

Together, we’ve braved some turbulent skies, often having to hold fast to our grapple hooks, but somehow we’ve survived! And while the journey’s not nearly over, despite the fact we’ve covered some momentous milestones, we can safely say that the final destination will be more than worth it!

NOTABLE BUGFIXES AND CHANGES

-Fixed Old dyed clothing display brown colour.
-Cost of paint has been lowered.
-Fixed a duping exploit relying on latency.
-Base material stats on Iron, Lead, Bronze, Tin, Nickel, Alum, Eternium have been balanced.

Building on the hugely ambitious groundwork laid out by New Foundations, Update 29 - Will of the Council - continues to address the amazing feedback we’ve received from the community during Early Access, and is another momentous milestone for the ongoing journey that is Worlds Adrift.

That said, we thought we’d speak to a few key members of Foundation about what Update 29 truly means to them, and how it continues to enhance their exploration of the skies...

The ‘Will of the Council’ is one of Worlds Adrift’s largest updates ever, second only to Update 27 aka ‘Foundations’. It brings many big features such as positional voice chat throughout the world, huge performance improvements that should see FPS going up considerably for everyone, customisation options to allow colouring and tweaking ship parts, plus a host of other improvements and expansions.

‘Will of the Council’ is the result of priorities elected by the Community Cloud Council (aka CCC -- a council made of Worlds Adrift players) in concert with the development team, who pulled no stops to implement such large changes to the game in record time in a bid to elevate the quality of Worlds to new heights.
